Ajisen Ramen

Small shop along Gouger Street. They even ran out of cups to serve water. The traditional ramen with pork broth was not as brothy as I thought. The flavour was lacking and was borderline tasteless. The char siu was not bad. The Karaage chicken was a rip off. $10 for 4 measly pieces. It was the most expensive and not worth it Karaage. The "wagyu" beef was cooked alright and wasn't too tough.

Ajisen Ramen is a great little place for a value meal. Meals are delicious every time we’ve been. I would not call it authentic Japanese ramen if that’s what you’re looking for, but it’s still good. Fast service and clean dining area (we’ve even observed them wiping the table numbers at the end of the day!). 4 stars due to staff being a bit abrupt, borderline rude. Would be good to get a little bit more comfortable seating too. The food is easily worth coming back time and time again, especially when you want a filling cheap meal.

Ramen selection has been the same for over a decade - which is actually quite nice if you know what you want and like. Can expect same kind of quality at all times. Service could be slightly improved though, staff is usually a bit oblivious to tables waiting to order unless you call them over. Would still come back though.

I was craving ramen and lucky for me this spot was right next to the hotel I'm staying at. I ordered the Ajisen Ramen Lunch special with Chahan and Hot Green Tea. Great value and lots of food. The Ramen and the Chahan were rich in flavour and by far the best I've had in Australia yet. The dining area is clean and contemporary and the staff is very friendly. I will definilty be dining here constantly thought my stay ik Australia.
