China Garden

I like the people that operate the restaurant now. (Don't tell the lady running it, but, I really like her.) I place it in the fast food category as I have been to 2 better more expensive Chinese Restaurants. The food here is good for the money spent. They have days when they get no rest, with the walk ins and the phone orders. Very friendly people and they deliver. If you want better, it is out there, just keep in mind, it will cost much more.

Others may have a better experience, but mine was horrible. My egg drop soup smelled like chemicals and I couldn't even eat it. The crab wonton tasted pretty weird, too, and the sweet and sour chicken was not as good as I've had at other places. I was told this place was nothing special. I didn't need it to be; I just wanted normal Chinese takeout (that didn't happen). The price was cheaper than most, but for good reason.

DO NOT EAT HERE! We ordered the vegetable lo mein and the pork fried rice. We found BUGS in our food. We only discovered this after we left the area so we were not able to go back to the restaurant and ask for our refund. We had to call and the woman absolutely refused. We were yelled at and argued with the entire phone call which ended with an abrupt hang up. She would not give us our money back but instead offered us more food. Why would I want MORE food from a place that served us bugs? The customer service was almost as garbage as the food was.

I order shrimp egg foo young and ate it for two days cause it's such a big meal 1 day later I'm having chills nausea diarrhea and dizziness I had to call off work i may have to go to urgent care. I'm feeling awful. Clearly they served us some bad shrimp. I cant go back to this place and I suggest you stear clear also. I feel my sister and I have food poisoning

China Garden was sold and is now open under a new name and management. But when they were open they were the best Chinese restaurant in Akron. I frequented this place from my college years to my professional years and my family will gravely miss patronizing this once family owned business. It is a sad day for Akron.
