A Buncha Brunch

I happened to be in Albany for an event last weekend and my hotel was very close to the mall. I ended up here for a quick dinner solo. My server was very accommodating and funny. They give complimentary warm bread which was fresh...😊 i had a nice glass of Riesling. Server was very knowledgeable. I started with the Fresh Mozzarella with Tomato. (I am very picky with balsamic and this one was amazing- Sweet and zesty!) They added pesto which is an added touch... Excellent and fresh! I ordered the Rigatoni Marsala and it was piping hot and delicious. If I am ever in Albany again, I would definitely come back. I fully enjoyed my meal. I had an amazing experience! *Clean, cool, calm and collective as I beat the dinner rush on a Saturday night!!!

We went to the standard for dinner and drinks before a night out. We both ordered martinis off their regular drink menu both drinks came with blue cheese stuffed olives. My dates drink came without her olive so we asked about it and the server apologized and went to get it. After 2 requests we finally received it and as the picture shows it was completely covered in mold. I took the olive to the hostess stand and spoke with who I assumed was the manager where I explained that my drink had the same type of olive in it so he asked what I was drinking and saud he would take care of it. After waiting 15 back at the table he brought me a new drink. After the meal which the food was good we received the bill and found that nothing was done about the drinks. Very disappointed that the drinks weren't comped at the very least.

I stopped in today get a bite to eat I never been here to eat before . The host was very nice and so was our waitress . The food absolutely great I loved the French fries and the French onion burger. The only situation I didn't like was the fact of the door being open and all the big white puffy pollen was all over the restaurant inside and I'm not just talking a little flying around I mean alot everywhere going in my food and drink definitely don't recommend going there this time of season if you have allergies. But other then that it was good.

This place is awesome! They are still batting 100% with me and my family. Food is great. Good portions too. Get the crab cakes. You know a steak is good when you use NO sauce! The meals were worth every penny. If you get an appetizer, you will need a to go container. Unless you come there fasting. Nice seating. Lighting is not too dark or bright. Booths are nice and sides high enough where you are not looking right in someone's face. Music was not really loud either. I said I was going back and I did. Will be going back soon.

On a trip and thought this looked like a good place to try. It was getting late and this place was open until 10. Service was mediocre as they informed us and the next 4 tables they sat around us that the kitchen closes at 9:30. Watched server carry one of our meals to another table then over half the restaurant until it found its way to us. The food really was not good. Only food of the whole trip we barely ate and didn’t ask for a to go box for later. Server took forever to get refills of water and condiments. Was a bad experience all around. Save yourself the money. Eat fast food and if you want to waste what’s left go have a good time at Dave and Busters. That would have been a better experience.

Visited on a Sunday night after wanting to come for awhile. The theme and decor of this restaurant is very attractive with images of the rat pack and art deco decorations throughout. Unfortunately, the food is not good: Food: Seared Scallops Entree- Scallops we're so overcooked, it was if I was eating scallop potato chips. The risotto was just rice in oil and couldn't have been blander. Blue Cheese Crusted Filet- Had to send it back because the medium rare was a cold rare. The blue cheese crust was inedible, a total waste of money. NY Strip- Canned mushrooms on top, bland, spinach actually tasted like nothing. Service: Waitress was very nice but covering the hostess area + every table in the place. She did the best she could but very short staffed. Drinks: Not bad, a lot of sugar not a lot of alcohol. All in all, sad because so much effort was put into making this place an enjoyable restaurant but the food is so bad, it's just not worth your time.

We've been going to The Standard fairly often since they opened. It's one of our favorite restaurants. We've never had a bad meal there, and have always been impressed with the professional waitstaff. We had lunch there today, (about 11:30), and while the food and service were fine, the place was dirty. There were food stains on the wall of our booth and the lampshade was filthy. Even the glass doors were covered in smudges and fingerprints. Very disappointed.
