Cafe Laurel

We came in a little before before they closed and as a first time guest here it was relaxing and the restaurant itself brought what I like in a local place. the owner was so nice and attentive towards us and our needs. She was patient and recommended some things. As a gm of several restaurants it brought a smile to my face. I highly recommend it.

Exceptionally good coffee and tasty, freshly made food. They even went through the extra effort to make a vegan version of their breakfast burrito for me (it was delicious, too). Although it looks unremarkable on the outside, at first, the interior is very cozy and nicely decorated. Definitely worth stopping by.

This place is a lovely small business. They're very friendly, very neat and clean, the decor is set with calm and comfort in mind, and the food and drinks are top tier to go with it all. I may well be a new frequent customer at Cafe Laurel based on the service and atmosphere alone but I won't say no to trying more of their menu.

Fantastic spot! Seriously nice people, wonderful food, and super cute and clean decor. Outdoor seating, dog friendly! We stopped for a lite breakfast (avocado toast and a handheld burrito) and sandwiches to go, which came nicely packaged in brown bags with all recyclable materials! Wonderful experience.

Great little cafe. You order at the counter and they bring you your food at the table. As a vegan, I was concerned about little options. They were very accommodating, great customer service. I was there for breakfast, but saw a "carrot dog" as a great vegan option I will have to go back and try. Also was told they can make the enchiladas vegan as the red sauce is vegan and gluten free as well. They brought a sample of the red sauce to my table, very delicious! I had a potato scramble with tomato, spinach and onion. Plus wheat toast with organic strawberry jam and a side of fresh fruit. I will definitely be back as it's in my neighborhood. Bright space with lots of light, relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

**update** Cafe Laurel has become our favorite cafe in Albuquerque for brunch because of the good food, friendly people, and casual and cheerful setting. We eat here nearly every weekend now. The Laurel Fog is my usual drink and I like everything I've tried on the menu. **original review Feb. 2016** The food was tasty. I had the vegetarian sandwich with turkey added and it was great. The hazelnut chocolate crepe was soooo good! I would describe this place as simple, classy, and friendly. The cafe is cozy and bright. The owner came out to ask us how our food was and apologize for the delay since he had sent his cooks home earlier before it got busy suddenly. Everyone was friendly.
