Cru Food & Wine Bar

My boyfriend and I were looking for a little wine and appetizers while shopping at the Avalon shops. CRU turned out to be perfect! We walked in and sat at the bar, no waiting. The bartender was awesome! She recommended a great wine so we got a bottle. We ordered their charcuterie board. It was perfect and delicious! We will definitely be back!

Fantastic wine bar! The goat cheese croquettes and the fig and gorgonzola and must haves. The charcuterie was good, not don't feel bad if you decide to order a shareable instead. The tuna poke was a little bland and needed a drizzle or sauce to take make it pop imo. I want to try the truffle pizza the next time I go. If you're big into wine, they have wine flights here.

This was my first time here Cru Food & Wine Bar at Avalon - the food was delicious and it was a wonderful atmosphere but the most impressive part of my birthday brunch was our server Matty, he was awesome! He was attentive, polite and professional. He keep our drinks full and took great pictures of me and made recommendations and was extremely pleasant!!!! Thanks for making my birthday special!

I have loved this place for so long. Who doesn’t love goat cheese fritters and wine flights? But after my last experience, I have been so off put. I recently dined there and I heard the manager (a female with a slick back bun and red lipstick) yell at the bartender who had been serving me all night. It was so uncomfortable and unprofessional. The bartender was phenomenal but she was being publicly scolded by the manager whom I hadn’t seen on the floor the entire night. The service was great but the environment and ambiance was off putting.

We had a wonderful time at CRU. The lady who waited on us was knowledgeable in both wine and food items; as a wine connoisseur thats much appreciated. The weather was nice, the service was prompt. All in all it was a great time. My only complaint and reason for 4 🌟 instead of 5 is that the price was a bit high considering the portions that were received. Still no real complaints though.

First time guest and I'm not sure I'd go back as much as I would want to. Maybe they'll get a second chance in a few years when hopefully there's a new crew. Food was good but we got all kinds of substitutions that weren't presented on the menu. Things weren't as described. Young, new waitress was basically like "oh yeah we're out of things, I'm sorry" and didn't know what to do. Manager lady (I'm assuming cause she had on the purple suit) was basically wrapped up in her duties walking back and forth and sweating with a frown, but not much else. I hoped she would ask about our experience but never did. Cool concept. Weak service. Good food. But not what we ordered. Lacking leadership.
