Cracker Barrel

This location used to be good but no more. I've been here 4 times over the last few months. Only 1 time was it good. 1 time the service and food was bad. Twice they were having issues and we had to leave because they were not busy but very understaffed. On top of that we were treated rudely this time. It was about 8:30pm on a Saturday night and even though the restaurant was half empty and there wasn't anyone else waiting, were told unapologetically that there would be a 25 minute wait because they only had two servers. Since it was cold outside and we weren't dressed for it, I asked if we could just sit at an empty table to wait instead of standing for the whole time. I didn't mention it, but my wife is handicapped and can't stand for long periods of time. The answer was a no, so we left without any fuss, but she was really rude about it as though it such an unreasonable question. IMHO, in the unusual circumstances of having only 2 servers causing customers having to wait 25 minutes it was a reasonable question. We would have waited without complaint. In hindsight I realize she was kind of snippy from word one. We won't be back. Original Pancake House in the same shopping center is a refreshing alternative with great food and great service.

Came here this evening with my family for dinner. Both of my children ordered a BLT and loved it! My husband had the country fried steak, which he seemed to enjoy. I had the chicken fried chicken, which was very good. It was 2 large pieces...more than I could eat. The bad thing about it was that I didn't get any of my side dishes with it. I was told that they were out of everything I chose. And neither of our plates came with the biscuits, because they were out of those too! We were there a little late, but it would have been nice if we had been told there were no sides left at the time we placed our order. Then we could have had something else.

My favorite waitress "Melissa" suggested that I try their Fish Fry on Fridays. I did, and it was wonderful. It's now become my regular Friday fare. I will suggest that you NOT pare it with their Cole slaw unless you desire dessert with your entree. The slaw tasted like it contained a cup of pure sugar in it. It almost made my stomach do flip flops! I like pie, cake, and cobbler, but not in the middle of my main meal. This past Friday I substituted the steamed broccoli. 100% better.

Left standing at the unattended host stand for ten minutes, then seated with no response from the server. The best part of the trip was when I gave up and walked out. The Original Pancake House was within walking distance. Service there was spot on. Great pancakes and the server acted as though it was a pleasure to be at work. Cracker Barrel needs to take notice. While Cracker Barrel continues to remove healthy items from their menu, the Pancake House still serves turkey sausage! I am in town for a few more weeks. Now I know where to have breakfast!

Good food, great service and good Covid19 practices. We ate at a local Cracker Barrel (normally our on-the-road restaurant) because I got a gift certificate. It was a great choice for a late lunch. It took about 15 minutes to be seated because the are operating at half capacity in the dining room which is normal. Once we were seated we were immediately greeted by our server (Alex) and she did a great job. The food came out very quickly with everything hot and tasty. Thank you for a great experience!
