Ray's Ny Pizza

Soooo so slow. We were the only ones who were there and it still took 30 minutes to get a burger and boneless chicken wings. Waiter was inattentive. The burger had no flavor and all you could taste was old grease with the wings, had to send them back. For the prices on the burgers I'd rather go to the vortex where I know it's good instead of expecting it to be because of the price. First and last time there.

The food is ok but a little expensive. My main problem is that the recipe's tend to change but I love pizza and this is better than delivery, so do come back every few months or so. I will say that the service has gone downhill. We only do carry out now because of how awful the service is. Even carry out is an issue at times. The employees act like they are hanging out and just happen to sell food as opposed to actually running a business. Their attitude really turns me off at times and is probably why we stopped going to weekly trivia, stopped dining in at all, stopped going once a week, and stopped recommending the place to friends. We still go once every 3 to 4 months or so for the yummy garlic gnots! When I said recipes change, I was referring to other menu items, not the pizza. I very clearly said the pizza we like. The salad has changed a great deal, new dressing, croutons, cheese, even quality of lettuce. Chicken Tenders change back and forth. Little things but things we noticed. I'm not one to complain to management about service as I feel it will get you retaliation in the way of food tampering in the future.(I worked in the food industry before) I like the pizza and still will eat it, I just won't dine in anymore. I do appreciate the response from ownership in an attempt to make it right. I just won't pursue it for fear of foreign objects in my food! I'll take rude and tasty over polite and booger filled any day.

Used to be our favorite by far...regular customer for over 8 years but delivery area shrank so we had to pick up. No big deal BUT going into the restaurant was consistently a bad experience. This was often repeated over months so no more, Very good pizza but staff could not care less about he customer.

I'll start by saying we used to love this place. They had great pizza and great service. They might still have great food, but we wouldn't know. Apparently, three weeks ago they got rid of their servers. We get there, and stand at the counter waiting to find out if we can seat ourselves or if we need to wait for someone. At the time, there were three people standing behind the register. One, clearly the manager, was taking a huge order. The other two were just standing there, like the running joke about construction workers. One guy doing all the work, the others just standing around watching. No one said anything to us. No greeting. Nothing. The manager just held up his finger to us to indicate he'd help us shortly, while the other two just stood there. Eventually, one of the others told us we could either sit, or order at the bar. So, we sat. Except, that turns out to not be what he said. We were informed by the third guy in a pretty condescending tone that we were supposed to order first and then sit because they didn't have waiters anymore, just food runners. We'd been there a month before, and that wasn't the case. He told us that they "re-branded" three weeks ago, like we should have already known that. He was gracious enough to let us look at the menu, though. It's the little things. Sadly, his kind gesture wasn't enough to keep it from being extremely awkward. My partner felt fine, but I felt so uncomfortable that I wasn't going to be able to eat there. So, we left. Again, no one said a word to us. They just watched us go. They had three other tables at 7pm on a Friday night, pretty sure they knew. Pro tip from over a decade in customer service: at the very least, greet your customers when they walk in the door. Extra bonus points if you clearly explain any relevant changes to your procedure! We went to the Humble Pie Company, instead, and the service was good.

Really love the pizza so I have been eating lunch at the Windward location at least once a week for some time now. I usually order about 3 slices and request that they bring the slices one at a time so I am always eating hot pizza. They never mind doing that for me and they keep an eye on me so I am not waiting between slices. Once in a while I have to ask for a water refill but if that is my biggest problem in life then life is beyond good!

Ray's New York Pizza.... I wasn't actually aware it was all over Atlanta, it's apparently got a good number of locations. I'd been to the one on tech square in midtown before, but never another one so I thought I'd try this one, and it was basically around the same, pretty mediocre. Ray's has its good and bad, but it doesn't, or hasn't yet to me, have anything that really stands out. It's pizzas and strombolis and etc are good, sure, but they're not spectacular. Case in point, last time I came, I had the Fifth Avenue Stromboli. Cost? 10.25. Seemed kind of pricey, but when it came I noticed that it was pretty much bigger than my head. I'll give them that, this dish was HUGE. I only ate half of it, and saved the rest for a couple hours later. It had a lot of cheese and toppings inside, but they weren't the best quality. There wasn't as much steak as chicken or mushrooms, and the chicken was cubed for some reason, which was really weird and gave it a strange texture. Meanwhile, my waiter was nice and comical, but it took like ten minutes for him to realize despite making eye contact that I was ready to pay and leave, not to mention like 10-15 waiting to take my order. Overall, would be pretty decent if it wasn't for the price. FAR too expensive for its mediocrity, That's my main issue; you can't charge this much and have such mediocre service and food.

Just flew in on a business trip and I was craving some pizza! I was so relieved to find out, with in walking distance of my hotel, there was a NewYork style pizza shop. Just to give my self a heades up I checked Yelp and Google to find out what I was getting my self into. A lot of great reviews and a few bad so I figured I'd give it a shot. As soon as I walked in I loved the smell and the over all atmosphere (slight sports bar, part family restaurant). I sat at the bar and had a great conversation with Mark, I believe his name was. The beer selection was much better than expected and the food was fantastic. I ordered the Clazone and was blown away. Anyways, A+ service, A+ Food, and A+ drinks
