Siam Secret Thai Restaurant

I am totally confounded by all these positive reviews. We went there for dinner on Saturday night and it was by far the worst Thai restaurant, if not the worst restaurant all round, I've ever been to. The beef curry we ordered had chunks of fat from the beef without any meat, it was inedible. The pad Thai noodles were raw and so hard we couldn't even chew them. The rest of the food was unpleasant and unappetizing. I thought it was just me being fussy, but I've since spoken to a couple of other people that have been there and have had unpleasant experiences as well. When we spoke to the manager and showed him the lumps of beef fat in the curry, he said "oh that's what Thai food is like". No it's not! At least no other Thai food I've ever had. We ordered the spicy chicken ribs after reading the reviews online. They were okay, nothing to write home about that's for sure. The best spicy chicken ribs I've ever had and that are consistently fabulous, along with all the other food, is from Dragon Temple restaurant. These ones were average at best. Oh well, you live and learn and we will never be returning to this restaurant again. I'd rather eat stale bread

Great service, staff, clean restaurant and very attentively decorated. Perfect for a social night out, or gathering with family! Would highly recommend trying their Fried Chicken Ribs - an absolute stunner, told by every person I’ve recommended it to. Their Coconut Rice is also beautifully made and had a fragrant creaminess. By far one of the best Thai restaurants in Melbourne!😍

Authentic thai cuisine! We loved it..flavors were well balance. Portions size were very generous. Their interior set up with cutlery were pretty. Staff were very friendly and mindful with our orders. Loved the Tom yam soup and the set up was good as this meant that our soup was still hot as we tried on other dishes. A must try if you're in the area!!

Mixed entree Rotti w/ peanut sauce Stir fried cashew nut chicken Panang beef Coconut rice large House white sauv blanc Singha Nice beverages, rice and peanut sauce. Stir fried cashewnut chicken was beautiful and generous pieces. -Rotti bread is more of a shortcrust pastry, flakey. -Mixed entree, failed to make an appearance. -Panang Beef, stingy in pieces and a sweet tomoto oily soup. Not pleasing and sickining in the belly. 2/5 rating the food 40%

Went for our son's birthday dinner. Really lovely, fresh Thai food. We had Pad Thai with big fat juicy prawns, Thai Fried with Rice with more fat, juicy prawns, vegetable curry, Sweet & Sour Beef and as recommended by our server, the Chicken Ribs plus a couple of serves of Roti and a small steamed rice between 6. So good!! We were all stuffed and happy. No pictures because we all dug in so fast. Add to that we could BYO and the price was very reasonable. We will be back.
