Madmug Cafe & Bar

Stopped in for some tea and toast after a trip to Altrincham hospital. Delicious toast, but even better tea! Decaf tea is often an afterthought in cafes and can taste awful, but not so here thankfully! A little area for children to play in, always a nice touch. Would definitely visit again if I was in the area

THE BEST COFFEE IN ALTY. I gladly take the extra 3 minute walk out of the centre just to come here for the coffee, for the atmosphere and for the good background music. Its child friendly with stuff for kids to play with and its wheelchair accessible. Everything about this place has a good vibe. I have only eaten once- the breakfast was up to standard. I love coming here to study.

Tried a Vienna coffee which I'd not had before. Served with a small glass of water like you get on continent which is a nice touch. My girlfriend was about to go on a night out so had a pint of peroni, nice to be able to get both a good coffee and alcohol. The coffee was very good and the staff are very pleasant, the general feeling is relaxed and decor bright and trendy. I will be coming back to try the food.

New favourite cafe in Alty for me! Lovely feel, pleasant service and a really interesting array of food & drink. A great coffee selection though I might save the wild animal coffee for a special occasion. The little kids' area was enjoyed by our 3 and 5 year olds, a selection of good children's books too.

Had brunch here today (monday). What a delightful place. Friendly staff, beautifully designed, decorated and furnished cafe, cosy and comfortable. Brilliant little play corner to accommodate a few kiddies and the most delicious mushroom soup I've ever tasted. Will definitely be coming again to sample the cooked breakfast. Thanks MadMug. 😁

Friendly and polite staff and a nice cafe in terms of decor and seating etc. Clean toilets. But the food was cold - probably because the service was extremely slow - 30 minutes for porridge and toast with eggs. But clearly they'd run out of eggs because I saw the chef coming back from the local shop with eggs to make my breakfast. So very nice in some respects but pretty incompetent in others. Problem is, is that there are a lot of places in Altrincham to choose from.......
