Sizzlin' Cafe

Pleasantly surprised! Based on the reviews, I didn't have high hopes. The person that greeted us was excellent. She caught the table was not cleaned and made sure to clean it before we were sat. Additionally she took our drink order and later our food order, when our server hadn't come by. The food was really good and made the experience complete. It's not without flaws, but overall a good breakfast experience.

This place is the complimentary breakfast voucher for nearby hotels. Get there early and service is quick, they get slammed after 8. The omlet I got was very good but the amount of fillings between 2 days made it very different in value. Day one my meat lovers was stuffed with meat and fantastic, day two, not so great. About 50% less meat and while still tasty, not worth the cost. The coffee is good. My wife got a waffle and again it was undercooked day one and perfect day two. Not very consistent. Still a great spot for breakfast.

As someone who takes advice from other reviews, I came early. Only one server, but he did a great job. I'm not a very needy customer but I felt if I were, my needs would have been met. Blueberry Pancakes were amazing! Reminded me of my grandmothers. Based on other reviews I was nervous about coming here but I'm glad I did.

1 cook on shift. 1 waitress on shift. If that was it, I wouldn't be complaining. I'm complaining because through all that every word out of the server was attitude or back talk. She made it clear that there was a new owner on Monday and couldn't care less about our experience, especially when she realized she wasn't getting tipped. Food was decent sure, but not worth the belittlement of the staff. Will NOT eat bring my business here in the future.

We stayed at the Guesthouse Inn & Suites across the road from Sizzlin Cafe. We had a great breakfast there in the morning and enjoyed the friendliness, cleanliness, good prices and good food so much that we decided to go back there for dinner. We were not disappointed as the pre-dinner drinks were excellent and the meals we selected were superb. The seafood chowder was to die for. The staff were excellent and the service exemplary. We enjoyed a good and long conversation with the host, Kenny, and were very impressed with his knowledge and dedication to making this venue a must go to destination for visitors to Anchorage. Well done Sizzlin Cafe! We salute you.

The food was fairly good at Sizzlin Cafe. It was apparently understaffed and had the servers not had a lot of hustle could have been a long lunch. I would imagine this is a temporary situation but if other reviews also note this you may want to plan on a little extra time. The restaurant was sparse but clean including the restrooms which I think demonstrates general awareness and attention to detail.
