Matanuska Brew Pub

We walked in and was able to have a seat very quickly. The beer in the picture a Matanuska Backcountry Blue, which is a fruity blueberry beer. So far, one of the best Alaskan Made Beers I have tasted to date. If you are in the area of Anchorage, stop in and give it a try. Service isn't the quickest so just enjoy the atmosphere. It's a Sports Bar with plenty of TVs. They are placed high for easy visibility. Ice water was good. Lots of varieties in food dishes to drool over. Food pictures are Beer Cheese Fries and Ruben. Their slogan, fresh cut fries, never frozen! 1 star was taken off for two things. 1/2 Star for restrooms that could have been just a little more clean and less fragrant. Yes I realize it is a bar restroom and I adjust for this fact. 1/2 Star for the bench seat not secure to the base which caused me to dip to the floor.

Tasty beer, fantastic food, good vibes. This place has a variety of bar foods to choose from and every single beer I tried was excellent. The spicy chicken sandwich was quite tasty and the NEIPAs were fantastic. The coffee porter is a good one to end on (kinda like dessert) one of the better porters I've had. Can't say enough good about this place, when in Anchorage check it out!

Awesome bartender with heavy pours. The girl working at the front was really nice and offered some great suggestions for food. Had the Brussels sprouts, spinach goat salad and the blackened halibut tacos (by favorite). Great atmosphere and TVs everywhere for any sport You want. Also outdoor bubble seating very cool spot 5/5

The fries were tiny remnants of small slim fries that didn’t taste that good but had seasoning to help. It was like they bought the cheapest fries possible. The burgers were good size served with a little catchup side which you had to choose to use it for the fries or on the dry burger. We had eight people seated at two small tables pushed together. It was not fun sharing a tight space especially when the food arrived. I will be looking for a higher quality place to go next time.

Outstanding food and beer! A must do! We knew their beer was pretty amazing, had a few around town, but stopped in this location for the first time, expecting typical bar food but what a surprise the food was out of this world delicious!!! I had the parmesan halibut sandwich, lettuce bun instead of bread which was awesome they do that, but wow that halibut was to die for! My husband had the halibut burrito and it was also insanely delish! Great portions for after a day of hiking, and we sampled some more beer and all were sooo good. Coming back to Alaska just for this place 👌🏽
