The Shaka Shack

This was our first time there. We decided to stop by and grab a quick snack. We wanted musubi because that is something easy you can grab on the go. I guess after we went to Hawaii recently we expected it to be in strange wrap and we could eat and walk. They put 3 of them in a Styrofoam container for us. I went to grab one and it fell apart immediately. The chicken was okay. We also got the spam and eggs version. They fell apart top and the spam was pretty thin. Way too much rice and they sauce was too sweet. I am not sure I want to go there anymore.

Normally when i go to the mall for lunch I go to Famous Wok as their teriyaki chicken is pretty good and the portion sizes are fair for the price. However, today I thought I'd give Shaka Shack a shot and was extremely disappointed and will most likely not return. I got their teriyaki bowl which looked nothing like the picture and was pretty much just rice. the chicken was chewy, bland, and tasted like it was the left over fatty pieces cut off other portions of chicken. The picture they advertise shows carrots, peppers, etc. and make the bowl appear like its mostly lean chicken with vegetables. In reality you get around 3oz of random pieces of fatty chicken and a few pieces of vegetables over top mostly rice.

Complete rip off. Ordered kahlua pork bonsai bowl, and it came with zero vegetables. I told the cashier and when she asked the cook, the cook said the cabbage that comes with the kahlua port counts as the vegetable! The pictures on the wall all show carrots and broccoli but this place was unwilling to add it without charging extra. Would be nice to know that you count the 5 pieces of cabbage that come with the kahlua pork as the vegetable before someone orders. Completely unsatisfactory customer service and intentionally a rip off.

I was eating there quite often for a while. Loved the banzai bowl and teriyaki chicken. Never had any issues other than a few veggies that were a bit weird/had blck spots but just recently ordered the bbq sandwich (teriyaki chicken, bbq sauce, tomato and lettuce) and was super grossed out. Got halfway through it and got a bite of something rotten. Didnt open it up to look at ot because I would have freaked out if I would have seen something gross so I just threw it away and went back to work. Never eating there again man that was nasty.
