Hong Kong Buffet

While delivery was timely and the food hot the flavor left a lot to be desired. Fried rice had no vegetables or eggs. The honey garlic chicken tasted like it was coated in maple syrup. The fried shrimp that came with the house special dinner was over fried as was the chicken and sweet and sour pork. The meal was completely bland and not worth the $50. Please order elsewhere.

I went around 3pm and the buffet was closed. We ordered from the menu to eat there. They ended up serving us with to go boxes. We had to ask for drinks. We had to get our own plates, silverware and napkins. My friends order of sushi was wrong and was to spicy for her to eat. The food was below average with above average price. The restruant was completely empty with no music. Just complete silence, while the host babysat. Really awkward experience and will never spend my money there again. Way better choices out there.

the food is ok, at best. The buffet is a joke. I made an order for delivery, I live right up the street, but wasn't feeling well...Anyway after waiting for an HOUR for my $60 meal, I call to find out where my delivery was. The person answering the phone put me on hold for 5 minutes, then came back and stated that the delivery would be to me in 8 minutes. I could walk there faster! My food arrived COLD, they brought me pork instead of shrimp. I called to complain, and the wife stated that she would write down my number and because they messed up, I could call in for a free meal or come to the buffet. OF course I chose the meal over the buffet. Anyway, I called today to get what I was promised, and wouldn't you know it, the husband states the wife didn't tell him anything about it "maybe you come tomorrow and she help you". The meal I was going to order was a $4 soup and a $10 fried rice. WAY less than the $60 meal I ordered that arrived COLD, WRONG, and a HOUR LATER. I'm done with the Hong Kong Buffet, never ordering or eating there subpar food again. Plenty of better establishments to spend my money at anyway.

This is honestly the worst restaurant I have been to in Anchorage in 6 years. My family of 4 were the only customers in the whole restaurant and it took the waitress 10 minutes to take our order. It took 20 minutes for me to get water. The food took about 45 minutes to come out and it tasted horrible. The fried chicken was way over cooked and had at least 6 full grown feathers on just one piece and the other pieces had feathers too. The fried rice was really blan. The kalbi in the kalbi box was okay but the California roll that came with it was gross. The pineapple was good but that's because they take it straight out of a can. I stood at the register for 5 minutes before anyone came out from the back so I could pay.

I just ordered food from here because we received a brochure in the mail and we didn't feel like cooking tonight. I'm from Maryland and I LOVE dumpling noodle soup from my usual place so I thought I'd try it from here now that we've moved to Alaska. My husband ordered the dinner special with sweet+sour chicken and beef teriyaki. When the food was delivered, I noticed that the soup wasn't at all like it was pictured in the brochure. The noodles were thicker, the smell was wrong and there were wontons in it. This was nothing like what I ordered at all. Needless to say, I didn't touch it and called right away to ask about what went wrong. The woman on the phone was very accommodating - which is why I gave the "very good" rating. She said that they didn't make any of the items pictured on the brochure and that she wasn't aware of this issue until she spoke with the owners during our conversation on the phone. She offered me a refund for the dish and apologized. I told her that she should change the brochure right away because it was definitely misleading for customers and an inconvenience. I was looking forward to eating my favorite dish and was really unfortunate that they messed things up. The sweet and sour chicken was delicious. The beef teriyaki was made oddly. There was a lot of fat and was cut like mini t-bone steaks? I'd never seen it cut like that before. My husband and I are used to having them on a stick and cut in medium thin strips like BBQ. I don't think we'll be ordering from here again even with the resolved misunderstanding.

Excellent food especially in the middle of the night when the cravings for Chinese food hits, they give you generous amounts and if you are in the vicinity of the East Side of Anchorage the food always arrives nice and hot and very tasty.. The owners do have a language barrier , but we have patience when ordering and replete our order to make sure it is right... This is by far the best Chinese food Ive ever tasted , others lack the spice Im looking for ....and seem bland. Hong Kong Buffet is a great meal for the price and they bring it right to your home with a smile Now that is service.

This was one of the worst experiences that I have ever had, I had ordered the house fried rice & it was god awful. the rice was old & gooey & what meat that was in it was like the end of day left overs. It had the appearance that it had been steamed rice that had saffron thrown on it a little bit of egg mixed in plus the old scraps. Will not be eating here again nor would I ever recommend this place to anyone. Health Dept. should come in to inspect this establishment.
