Sabor Latino

I have given Agave numerous chances to impress me and after my latest experience I think I will not bother with any more. The quality of service and food has drastically dropped since the first time I came here in 2018. This last visit out waitress didn't write down any special requests (spicey stuff on side) and sure enough the kitchen wasnt able to follow and she didnt catch it on delivery. The queso dip was NOT as described in the menu. Didnt come with pico and was lukewarm at best. The chimichangas also did not come as described and was missing the pico and guacamole. Nothing in particular was significantly wrong but you'd expect more on main street in Ann Arbor. The service was horrid. Our waitress either was new or didn't care. Didn't check our waters, didn't check on us after the food was wrong so it took getting up and requesting it to be fixed (again, not a big deal).. Just overall a continued declining experience

Some work friends and I decided to give it a try on Taco Tuesday recently. Initially the place was nice. Trying to be an upscale joint. Waitress was nice. But I don't think she ever waited before. Overall service was horrible. Took 10 min to receive each drink our group ordered. Margaritas were average. The special Jalapeno margarita had nothing but a pound of cilantro in it. And we waited to be asked about ordering food while already being there for 45 min. Finally requested to order and received our food. I was not impressed. 4 tacos. 4 different meats. No flavor. All dry. Sorry not coming back. The only plus was how cheap my bill was that night.

The salsa that was provided with the chips tasted like plain canned tomato sauce. It had no flavor/character whatsoever. Having good salsa is a basic thing that a Mexican restaurant should get right, period. (yes, there was an assortment of hot sauces on the table that made eating the chips somewhat bearable but that doesn't cut it) The service was very slow. Both in terms of taking the order as well as in bringing the food out. It took around 45 minutes until our order was actually taken and then another 40 or so minutes for the food to come out. For lunch time with not too many tables full this was surprising and unacceptable. Not sure if this was just a one time bad experience because of some factor I am not aware of but I was not satisfied with my experience at all. I will, however, make an effort to go come back here once again at some point to make sure this wasn't just a one time occurrence and update the review if anything changes.

Never been more disappointed by a restaurant experience in Ann Arbor. Stopped in for a work lunch, table ordered tacos. Entire place had a single person working the bar, waiting tables, running orders, and possibly even making the food. Ordering was chaotic and confusing. Chips for the table were hilariously stale and chewy. Food took a completely unacceptable two hours, for simple street tacos, on lunch. After closing, the "waitress" informed us she didn't even work there, and was just doing someone a favor. No management in sight. Bizarre and unbelievable.

Disclaimer:I went during restaurant week so high influx of customers could have influenced my review. Staff was highly disorganized.They came to take my order like tree times but took forever to bring my order over. Food was alright nothing to go crazy about. pretty standard taco and they served way to little shrimps in the taco for the price. Conclusion, I would not come back to this place after this.

Food and drinks were great and the price was right. I had a variety of tacos and all of them were tasty. We will definitely be going back! The venue was a little on the loud side. It might have just been where we were sitting and because it was busy but I think that it could use some sound treatment in there. That wouldn't be enough to deter me from going though.

I've been to Sabor Latino and have always had great food & a enjoyable dining experience. However, today our group of (9) had the worst dining experience ever!! Our server took (10) minutes to bring our water, stood at one end of the table & shouted to the other end to take orders, told us to hand out the plates to each other, brought out 1-1/2 baskets of chips and (1) small salsa. After that, we kept asking for more salsa and water (never did get it). We were never offered any more water, our appetizers took forever. Finally we asked to speak with the manager and he said he'd discount our food. Finally after 50 minutes, we received our food and some more chips and salsa and a pitcher of water. My chicken was tough, my son's steak was chewy and red (he ordered well done), the rice was lukewarm, we had to ask for the plantains that were part of my meal. The bill came, no discount as the manager promised and they had the gall to add an 18% gratuity. Needless to say they lost some loyal patrons for ever!
