Great place for food and drinks! Good service, unique menu.

Went for Friday night fish with some friends and was blown away. Perch with the homemade tarter sauce is fantastic. Friends had the chiefs special, which was a shrimp dish, and both loved it. Crab cakes were also great! Top it off with awesome service and it's definitely a place I'll go back to.

Friendly and welcoming. The food is superb! Delicious and exquisite entrées. The waitstaff is excellent. Surprisingly affordable for the quality of food. The crab cakes were awesome. The steak and salmon were fantastic. I will definitely be back.

Nice low-key atmosphere. The food was quite good and presented well. We had a conversation at a normal volume as the noise level was pretty sedate. I'd recommend and I'll be back.

Great fish fry and every beer on tap is made in a local microbrewery! Super cool to support the local brewers!!

I had a burger and rings. Rings were good, burger average.
The beer selection was average.
We sat outside which was nice but just had a view of a parking lot, College Street and a playground with a rail line on the other side.

New owners and new menu since Fall 2021
The menu has been scaled up and still has a few legacy items
Salmon is out of this world!!! Scallop Carbonara, oh my! Perfectly cooked scallops. Tasty specialty cocktails. I enjoyed the College Avenue Sour.

Was in town to get away from home for the day and do some shopping. Thought we’d stop in for a fish fry as we ran into someone I knew from Wausau who said they were just at Spats to eat. Since the menu said “generous portion of haddock” that’s what my wife and I ordered (for $16.99). . I also ordered the lobster bisque which was very good, but when our entrees were served we looked at each other and said “that’s it?” Two pieces of haddock, $16.99! Service was great, but a “generous portion” does not mean two small pieces with fries and rye bread. I understand costs of almost everything have gone up but our small dinner was almost $50.00 with two sodas and soup, so we will not be back.
