This place is always busy and we finally got to try it out! We sat by the sushi bar. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have great suggestions on what to order base on your preference. We ordered the pork belly spicy soup, California roll, seared tuna and more sushi. Everything was delicious and the service was fast. We also tried their white sangria and it was really good! I definitely recommend this place!

I was craving for sushi, so I decided to give The Backhouse a try (right across from Din Tai Fung). I made a takeout order, the waitress was a bit rude...didn’t even greet me. I ordered a Rainbow Roll ($14) and the Unagi Don ($18). The wait wasn’t that bad since the place was kinda empty on a Sunday evening. When I came home, I was surprised how small the rainbow roll was. The fish wasn’t fresh...I could get a bigger portion and fresh quality elsewhere. The unagi was good, but $18 was a bit too pricey. Overall, the meal was average and I won’t be coming back here again...

I had the tonkotsu ramen and the broth is silky and very flavorful. The pork is very satisfactory too, thin and fatty. The noodles is just okay though. Egg is spot on.

I ordered the scallop sushi and the sweet shrimp sushi on 3-4-2017，perfect.....very fresh...... I will be back！！！！！so， FIve stars，i am sure！

the food is lovely, and the portions are actually what people are supposed to eat, opposed to the gargantuan American™ portion sizes. lovely atmosphere, great for family dining and a nice lunch with friends. service was timely and polite. would definitely return to enjoy the miso and baked salmon roll!!

I am a regular client at The Backhouse. It is one of my favorite places at the mall. However, today when I went for lunch with my mother we were disappointed by the terrible customer experience we received by the host/waiter Or whatever he was. He was extremely negligent and we figured he must be new. I had to ask the sushi chef for things such as soy sauce and extra plates because the waiter was incapable of accommodating us. After waiting for a while to ask for the check, my mother had to get up and walk over to the register to pay because the waiter was nowhere in site. She then proceeded to ask one of the other guys for a take out box and to her surprise the waiter who had made us wait came and told her “don’t ask him for anything he is just a cook.” We were very angry at this point. The reason we asked the cook for a box was because the waiter was incompetent. Will not return to the Backhouse as long as this waiter/host is there sadly.

This restuarant is located inside the upper part of the mall right next to Nordstrom. The menu is simple and most definitely not overwhelming. The service is beyond great. The food tastes so good that I would of had more if I wasn't in a rush. Most likely to be back again because the whole experience was definitely great.

So we got here had to try and make eye contact with one of the employees to be seated because it was as if we didn’t exist. As I’m Trying to order I can tell he’s very inpatient he asks to come back and I just choose something quick because I don’t want to have to flag him down again. We’re done eating some items and no clean up is done we’re done drinking our soda and no refill is offered nor a check up is done. We had to flag everyone down for everything and it was always some one different and on top of all this there was a hair on the food and I got a stomachache. Never again !
