Somisomi

SomiSomi ice cream located in the Westfield Arcadia mall on the lower level is a great experience for Asian style ice cream made with warm fresh waffle batter ice cream holders and delicious stuffed waffle batter deserts. They have a nice selection of delicious "choose your own" flavors and toppings. They have friendly servers and they do answer any questions and make suggestions. They are popular with children, younger people and older folks so you may need to wait a few short minutes-but it is definitely worth it!

The staff during closing are incredibly nice, and cute girls are always a plus. Even without them, the dessert is incredibly good if you want something sweet. I got the swirl of the day, a mixture of milk tea and ube (like taro) flavors. They also have free toppings, however, I'm not sure if it was just for me or for everyone. Seating can be found near Coffee Bean, a couple dozen feet away, but I'm not sure if that area is exclusively for Coffee Bean.

Cute ice cream place with great tasting flavors- milk tea flavor and matcha are my personal favorites! The four star review is because I've been to the Somi somi in Irvine, and the taiyaki was chewier and softer there. The taiyaki was a little hard/crunchy at this location, and I personally liked the fluffy cones better. I'm a slow eater so the ice cream melts and dribbles down my hand, so I recommend getting an extra cup on the side so you don't make a mess!

Very tasty taiyaki! They serve the kind with ice cream and filled ones as well. Due to COVID-19 they are only serving the taiyaki with ice cream in a bowl upside down but it is still very tasty and just as cute. I tried the milk and matcha ice cream. The milk was tasty and the matcha was very strong and not too sweet which is what I liked. The person working was very nice and tried her best to get orders out quickly since she was the only person working but she ended up giving us the wrong order. We recieved the wrong filled taiyaki. We took ours home so we didnt have the chance to recieve the correct order. The ones we got were tasty but I was excited to try the oreo ones and we didnt get any. But over all I loved it and would like to go back.
