Honey Boba

I love the drink I got the first time I was there (pictured here). I went back a three days later for a second drink and was turned off by the service. The second drink I got was a green-tea-based drink. It had too strong of caffeine that caused me a headache and to be jittery only a third of the way finished with the drink (-1 ☆). I wish the store would indicate the amount of caffeine on the menu or at least have the cashier/ clerk warn their customers. The other (-1 ☆) incident that upsets me was that I was ordering a third drink for my friend with the cashier, another clerk behind the counter proceed to take order from the customer BEHIND ME and then allowed that customer to pay for their order BEFORE ME. Rude much? For both of them! I shall not return to support their business.

It is with a heavy heart that I give this review. I’m from the Chicago area, and every winter I look forward to, among many things, my frosted milky from Honey Boba. Unfortunately, we came and were told that, not only did they not have any frosted milky, but basically they were out of every single specialty drink, only offering regular drinks: drinks I could get at a white milk tea shop. I have come here for years, but this place has gotten worse over the years. I hope to return in a few days, honey boba has earned that second chance. But to say the least, I am VERY disappointed.

Honeyboba is cute and yummy! A wonderful find for when craving boba. They have boba everything here - milk tea, smoothies, slushes, etc. This is what they're named for, and they do it VERY well. The drinks come in really wide cups, so there's a lot to drink up! It's great value for what you pay for - which is around $3-4. They have a small but comfortable seating area with a few booths and other tables. Service has always been very quick and efficient. They only take credit or debit, no cash! That's fine with me though, I almost never carry cash anyways! Delicious boba, good value, quick service, and comfortable interior. A great find for satisfying boba cravings!

The boba and Milk drink here is much better than at Half + Half. I think they use less brown sugar because the boba isn't as syrupy and sweet, but it just sweet enough and has great texture. I got the taro milk which was still sweet, but the boba was delicious and everything about it was right. If they had more locations or were more convenient I'd rather come here.

The drinks here are okay. Having come here several times now, I would only give their place 3 stars. First off, the parking lot is quite small since it's located in a plaza at the corner of a busy street. Since the register is located right next to the door, it can be annoying to have to weave your way around people. Another annoying thing is that when placing an order, I often have to speak really loudly in order for the cashier to hear me since the blenders are really loud. Expect to wait a while for your drink even it's a simple drink. Out of all the drinks I've had, my favorite is their Lychee Lovers Ice Tea. I don't get the boba here since they aren't anything special and aren't worth the calories. Their drinks come in cups that are too large to fit in a car cup holder, so plan according if you just wanted to grab a drink on the go.
