I came here with my husband for a company Christmas party. The entire restaurant was rented out and one would think they would be prepared. I am only giving 2 stars because it was a special situation and 50% of the dishes I did get to eat were good. Spoiler alert: we left before we received our entree... at 9:15pm.
We arrived around 6 and stood in line for a drink. There were three bartenders but only one was helping the long line. We were told dinner was to start at 6:30 and by 7 we realized most were sitting at a table and found a space at a table near the bar (all others were full plus we wanted furthest from the band as they were very loud). A set menu with a few selections for a soup/salad, entree and dessert were offered and orders were taken. The waiter seemed nice but flustered by how crazy the place was. By 7:15 we received our first dish, an appetizer of small slivers of steak with a green pesto-like sauce. Wow was it delicious. It was soon followed by these tiny crab cakes. These were also delicious. But then things got worse. 45 minutes later my soup arrived. It was cream of jalapeño. I was extremely disappointed in the soup which tasted like I was drinking velveeta cheese queso. Gross. My husband had ordered the wedge salad and it was nowhere to be found. After impatiently waiting at least another half hour and finally seeing a waitress we asked for his salad. Sadly the salad was just as bad as the soup. There was way too much blue cheese for either of us to eat it and what we believe was ranch dressing had a weird taste. Neither of us could finish it. Neither of us stay up late and are generally in bed before 9:30 as we both work early morning. We tried very hard to wait for our entree to come out but at 9:15 we couldn't wait any longer and left. According to a coworker the food came out just after 9:30. Dessert was served at 11:00. Yikes.
I do understand it was a lot of people at the same time but surely they knew we were coming if the whole restaurant was closed to the public. They seemed severely understaffed as I saw the same waiter on the other side of the building filling glasses and serving food.
I hope things get better as the appetizers were really good. Wish I knew how the entrees were.

Cool place! Food was quite good, reasonably priced, and it's a cool ambiance. Staff were great, and the food came out as quickly as I would hope for lunch. And the lobster bisque was AWESOME! Lots of chunks of meat and the flavor was perhaps the best I've yet found in DFW, and I've tried a lot.
However they just opened and are still working out a few items, and I do hope they continue to polish. The bread was as substantial as tissue paper and tasted about as good, and the mac n cheese had an awesome flavor but was so thick it needed to be finished with a bread crumb top and baked at least (and/or made less thick).
I was too full to try dessert, and there are quite a few other items I want to try, so will definitely be back!

Love the food and atmosphere. Usually have to go to Dallas or Plano for this. Finally a cool place I want to eat right here in Arlington. Can’t wait to go back!!

Soup was great and decor was great. Staff was clueless and service was a joke. Every table had at least one item sent back. It took 25 minutes to get our soup, then another 15 to get our steaks. My medium ribeye was raw in the center 4". My wife's medium well sirloin came out well done and tasted like the cheap steaks you get from Golden Corral. Our sides were barely warm and her broccoli looked and tasted old. The inside of the restaurant was cold and the live music from out side sounded like a cat, with rocks, in a blender!! I asked for a manager twice but no one stopped by the table. Not worth the $47.63 ticket! You would think after 3 months it would not be this bad?!?!

Had the best steak of my life last night! The Tomahawk was delicious! I had a side of scallops which were tasty and the creamed corn with pork belly. YUM!! The atmosphere was very comfortable and inviting. My husband had the Filet Mignon with grilled asparagus. It was cooked to perfection! Portion sizes are generous. We left very satisfied and very full! Their new carrot cake dessert is a wonderful addition to their menu also. A must try in S Arlington! We will definitely return!

This place is wonderful! I've been a few times already in the short time they've been open and it's become my go to place! The Tomahawk steak was amazing, the crab cakes were wonderful, but let me tell you what...after trying shrimp & grits for my first time in Baton rouge and swearing I'd never eat em again...I decided to try them here...and OMG...just amazing! That large skillet with different meats (sorry cant remember the name)...its very filling and great! The pork bellies on there were perfect! Prices are very reasonable, I'd say middle of the line with the high end steak house quality food!
Great friendly staff, very comfortable, rustic atmosphere. Had an opportunity to meet and talk with the owners a couple times and they're a wonderful friendly couple. Always walking around and checking with the guest. They seem to be very enthusiastic and full of ideas and knowledge, it's no surprise this place is doing so well and will continue to do so. Bartenders are very attentive and personable...great group to sit around and talk to over a couple drinks. Didnt like that Old Fashion they made me...but that's just me! I just saw others raving about it and it look good so I tried it.
I really enjoy eating here and look forward to doing so again very soon. Especially since I recently heard they have prime rib on Fridays! This will be the deal sealer for me...lol!
Do yourself a favor, give The Ranch Hand Steakhouse a try, you wont be disappointed!

I used to work here. The food is great and the people that work here are even better. The steaks are wood-fire grilled. The sides are scratch made. I’ve tried the whole menu, so I can say what it is. Came home for the holidays to eat here and read some of the other “reviews” and had to comment. This place is amazing. Wish I still lived near by! I’d be working there right now and happily doing so. The wait staff that trained me are super nice and hard working. You really should give it a try.

This place is delicious and worth the visit. We ordered the Tomahawk for 2 ($69), and it came with two salads (or soups), two sides, and a dessert to share. The first soup we ordered was a lobster bisque, which was not only good, but came with massive lumps of lobster in it. Each lump was tender. The other soup was French onion, also very tasty.
We ordered the Tomahawk medium rare but it came out closer to rare (cold red) toward the very middle, so we asked that it was refired. No problem. The next time it came out was absolutely spot on and seasoned perfectly. For our sides we got the creamed corn and garlic mashed potatoes which were also tasty (the side portion was slightly small, but considering we got 3lbs of meat/bone... Not complaining at all).
At the end we ordered the apple tart for dessert. I wanted the tiramisu or the whiskey cake, but being 9 months pregnant, my hubby requested I order something without alcohol in it. They did not have the chocolate cake available unfortunately, otherwise we would have ordered that first. At the end of the meal we took home enough steak to feed another person, plus the bone for our pups, and our dessert since we were way too full to eat more.
My only complaint (not food related, but hoping management sees this/fixes it), is that the women's restroom has a small step-up as the tiles are not flush with the restaurant flooring. I tripped trying to get into the restroom with a full bladder but caught myself on the door. It was very startling as, again, I'm very pregnant and could've been seriously injured from a fall.
Great food and great service. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a steakhouse in South Arlington.
