Try to go early.
If you're into nature, you'd enjoy your visit. I wouldn't say that this is mainly for kids under 12. The best parts are the seal lion and dolphin show, which of which you can get wet if you'd like. Definitely make your reservations to the shows as soon as you arrive , scan the QR Code when you walk in.
Can complete everything in 3-4hrs. Would recommend getting the CityPass that includes Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, the Zoo, and 2 other choices( museums).
That way, you have a full day of activities.
You will have to pay $30 for all-day parking, so you might as well. The only way to pay less is to park is to park a long distance away and walk.

The kids really enjoyed spending Christmas day here! The meals were expensive so order the family pack online when you order your tickets. Overall the staff were great and the restroom were really clean. No complaints

Amazing experience! So many good photo opportunities. I definitely recommend if you are visiting Atlanta. We walked through every exhibit and we were done within two hours. I would suggest purchasing tickets online before you go. So much fun!

Place is HUGE!
Imagine a 3 floor "Indoor Shopping mall" type structure but the stores are exhibits. The roof hatchery/water treatment was insanely cool. Devone was a awesome host/guide. Everyone there was very knowledgeable and welcoming. Great place to take the family or date activity. Rain ponchos are highly recommended if you attend the sea lion or dolphin show.

Such a cool and fun experience. I really had a blast here. Loved the dolphin show as well. It was too cute! Not many places you can see so many whales in one place either!

My family was at the Atlanta Aquarium on Friday after Thanksgiving. It was very crowded but fully accessible. I suggest purchasing tickets ahead of time. Since the Aquarium was a stop on the way home in Texas, tickets were purchased there. So many beautiful and colorful sea creatures! Sea turtles, sharks, dolphins, and an albino alligator! Such amazing displays to go under, over, and through the correct habitats for these creatures! Yes, you can see the Aquarium in one half day, but repeat visits will allow a more thorough experience. So much information to absorb and process for our grandchildren ages three, six, and ten. A return trip another time!!

I've gone during the week and it's been pretty quiet. My favorite time is the first hour they're open. They keep the music off, no guides over the loudspeakers, and everyone is encouraged to stay quiet. It's so peaceful at that time.

Buy tickets early to reserve a time.
Park at the top floor on the garage. It's only a couple of flights of stairs, very well lit and clean pat to and from the aquarium. We like to keep a bit of time to play in the park before our reservation.
The staff is so helpful and ready to educate little visitors. Shout out to Miss V (like the letter). That wonderful lady knows everything about their sharks.

This aquarium was a great experience. I came here on a Tuesday morning . It was not crowded at all . I do recommend buying tickets in advance . I got a discount through my job . If you are active or retired military personnel you are eligible for a discount as well. The aquarium is broken up into different sections . It took around 2-3 hours to cover the whole aquarium. They are shows as well other interaction things to do here .The staff were very knowledgeable which I loved and the facility is kept is great condition. I truly had a great time .

A wide variety of interesting animals both salt and fresh water, and from warm and cold climates. It's easy to spend three or four hours just taking your time walking through all of the exhibits. Checking out all of the sharks in the predator exhibit took nearly 45 minutes alone. The shows (like the sea lion show) require you to make a reservation, but they're free and you know that you have a seat saved for a specific time slot so you can keep exploring while you wait for your show time.
I recommend going on the weekend and arriving early if possible. Like any other major attraction, the later you go, the bigger the crowd. Remember that there are no weapons allowed, so you'll have to leave any pocket knives or firearms in your car since the metal detector will pick them up and send you walking all the way back to the parking garage. Also be aware that parking for the day costs $20.
