Lovely service and atmosphere. But the short rib not cooked slowly enough. They were good when this was pointed out with another half serve.

My gosh I wish I lived closer to this spot! Amazing food, great vibe. I loved watching the chefs do their magic while I waited for my food.
I had the blue cheese empanadas, the chorizo + the provolone - all so good! My partner had the orejano which he thoroughly enjoyed.
Also I couldn't get enough of the little green dip/sauce that accompanies most dishes.
I'd be really happy bringing my toddler here too with the food options for kids.
Such a great place, I'd highly recommend.

Enticed by the delicious aromas and the visual display of the selections of meats, roasting above burning coals, we decided to take a seat and order from the menu.
We weren't disappointed. In fact, we were treated to what we would describe as the most delicious flank steak and pork belly we've ever paid to dine on (and we're from Raglan, where we're spoilt for choice in the eatery department!).
So, go spend your hard earned money here...you won't be disappointed.

Tasty enough but thought the lamb and beef could have been better. Great value considering just how much meat you get, the parralllada plate in particular was very generous with the pork and lamb. Wine list is limited but quite good, and the bar indoors/covered patio outdoors is perhaps the best spot of the type in this food court.

A wonderful family business. Service was fantastic. Authentic Argentinian experience. Wine was 2019 & was excellent. Food was very tasty, the meat tender & very delicious. El Sizzling Chorizo is an excellent restaurant among excellent restaurants in Ponsonby. The place is pricy, yes, but you certainly get what you pay for. Service is top tier and so is the food. No regrets. Those are some amazing empanadas.

It would be a 3.5 rating if it existed but 4 it is.
It's a good price for value but clearly not perfect.
The atmosphere is great when you sit at the bar because you can enjoy the view of the grill.
It was good overall. However, the meat was not seasoned enough before the grilling (done after it seems). The pork belly was a bit dry depending on the pieces. The blue cheese empenadas were average at best. The potatoes were great.

Always a delight being in this place. Food is fresh off the fire steaks and chicken served to your liking. Could improve more on their salad dressing and sides but overall a good place for friends and special family dining.

Was Touring in New Zealand and I wanted to visit Ponsonby, at the same time I was also craving for steaks and this restaurant serve the best T bone steak!
The quality of the steak and the seasonings was way superior than the ones I had in Singapore, the quantity was larger and the cost was lower !
On top of that they have the friendliest staff’s, i will definitely return when I visit New Zealand again !

Been there twice, first time was good, meat cooked right. The second time we came back we noticed they had changed the chef, my pork belly came out over cooked and dry.., we did let them know at the end.., hopefully they will work on that as it makes me hesitant about coming back there now. Great atmosphere and service though
