The street nachos are amazing and super yummy! I love that it comes with Queso cheese instead of regular cheddar sprinkled at the top.

Anson from Mexicali Ponsonby has been applying his trade for well over a decade, is an absolute legend and home to the best cali burrito in Auckland. Big fan of the shredded chicken tacos as well. Highly recommend trying.

It's very similar to USA, even the dine in baskets, the regular is massive and it's usually good. Sometimes it's better than others depending on the proportions of ingredients. Often too much beans & rice, no where near as much meat as you'd get in usa so one less star:)

Expensive, but good quality. Their burritos are generous and tasty - just be aware that their menu board doesn't list the more basic items - check the paper menu for more options.

Had lunch at about 1 on a Sunday, and it was surprisingly quiet! Mexico, next door seemed to have more patrons, but bang for buck, mexicali is way better. The food here, as always, was phenomenal, good size portions, packed with flavour, service with a smile! Parking in Ponsonby is always annoying, so keep that in mind..

We went to Mexicali for brunch. Greeted with lovely smiles and hospitality ! The waiter allowed us to create out own Nachos with double meat or pulled pork and mince etc. Such lovely service and delicious tasty food !!

I popped in for a quick lunch. It's the perfect quick bite. I was surprised by the flavours. For some reason I thought it might be under welming. The decor is a bit boring. But I enjoyed my lunch. It was really OK

Love how all the food is made fresh every day. My absolute favourite is the quesadilla chill, yum. They also have lots of promos do worth downloading the app if you like fresh Mexican.
