Monterey Coffee Lounge

Warning: I am related to the owners - but on the other hand, I also try out lots of inner city cafes and restaurants and I have to say that the food here is fantastic. It's one of those places where if one feels safe to say order poached eggs, knowing it will be perfectly done and would have been correctly dried before being plated (so many places serve up poached eggs swimming in water - spilling on to the toast making it mushy... yum...!) or to have the savoury brioche knowing it will be cooked through and not half raw in the middle (again, why so hard?). Everything is done with care and an eye for detail. My favourites are the chicken baps toasted and bacon and eggs.
