Sconyer's Restaurant

My grandparents loved this place and I remember coming here as a kid, not truly able to appreciate the delicious BBQ. I was just down in Augusta for my grandparents funeral/memorial and our family thought it was only fitting to celebrate them by enjoying a meal at Sconyers. I went send and got the Plantation Platter and took it to the house. With the different sauces and all the BBQ I was sufficiently stuffed by the time I left. The wait staff was excellent, great speedy service with a smile. I hope to go back some day to enjoy more of their delicious BBQ.

hate to say it but the worst bbq ive had, atleast the brisket. The cuts were thick and the meat was cold. It tasted like it was microwaved and was extremely chewy, almost like eating heart. The sides are only, “hash and rice” the texture was watered down sloppy joe on top of rice and cole slaw. They also have potato salad. I would recommend Willie’s BBQ instead. The area is very nice though with a pond. Hate leaving bad reviews but I was really excited for this place, :(

Wanted to try some BBQ food and this place got super good reviews. I got the plantation platter and a brisket plate to try a little of all that they had and the only thing I enjoyed was the chicken. Every thing else I would not order again. The hash was very interesting as well and I’m still not sure what that combo is. The place is super cute and service was good.

Best BBQ in the state of GA! Great smoked meats, proper hash and rice, a folksy log cabin interior, and the best BBQ sauce I've ever had, bar none. Seriously, this sauce should be sold in stores. Not to mention the prestige of serving the white house. Where else will you find generational excellence in low 'n slow smoking. I drive 2 hours to get here, excitedly. Make it a point to stop here, this is worth the drive.
