Riverside Smoke Bar-b-que

Unexpectedly decent new BBQ place that replaced sandwich city in the same location. These people put a lot of care and craft into their bbq meats. The interior decor is really kitschy and interesting and they put all sorts of instruments as light fixtures and other items on the walls and ceiling. They added a bar in the back and have a stage. My only complaint is that they probably need a bit more variety in their bbq sauces (the only one worth it was the spicy/hot), and that maybe they need to replace their single slice of bread with a real slice of Texas toast. The white bread is super plain and doesn't add anything to the meal. Otherwise, we had a good amount of food and even had enough leftover to take home. Recommended!

I was looking for something for dinner and I saw this place and I pulled in. I am glad I did. The pork skins are fried to order and they are delicious. My waitress recommended the brisket and mac and cheese and they were both good. They have live music on Thursday. The owners were nice and welcoming, the music was good, and the food was delicious. I will definitely find my way back there. My sister tried the Angry pork sandwich with the fried brussel sprouts and she enjoyed her meal too.

This old expat Texan has learned not to order BBQ beef brisket anywhere outside of the Lone Star state. But today I suspended my disbelief and requested a moist, fatty cut, and it was like manna from heaven. Melted in my mouth and totally fit the bill. The pulled pork was very good as well, made even better by any of their three sauces – two tomato-vinegar varieties and one golden mustard blend. The two sides we tried were worthwhile, too. But that brisket...! And the people are super-friendly, too.

Saw this place pop up downtown and decided to give it a shot. Got the 3 meat plate with pulled pork, ribs and brisket. The ribs were delicious. The brisket was tender but not much flavor. The pulled pork was also good. You have a choice between 3 different sauces that I saw. One mustard based, one vinegar based and another that was just watery, not sure what I was. Overall a decent experience and I'd return.

The customer service was excellent! Very friendly & positive attitudes. The atmosphere was nice. I ordered the 3-meat plate (double chopped pork). I wanted the ribs for the 3rd meat but it wasn't ready. I really like the mac & cheese. It had flavor & a little kick like it had pepper jack cheese in it & that sets it apart from other mac & cheeses around the area. Even though the meat was very tender, the brisket lacked flavor without the sauce for me. The chopped pork was good with & without the sauce. Overall, I will return!
