Was in town for the weekend and was recommended to try this place. Service and food was great.

Goodness gracious. This place is gooooood. I mean GOOD. I tried the ribs with a side of mac and cheese and it was absolutely fantastic. My husband had the Donk and he was delightfully miserable after eating.
The atmosphere is really cool, too. The art and music are not your typical BBQ restaurant style and that makes it fun.
I would eat here all the time if we lived in the area.

Been treating myself to Slab for years. Always been happy with the food and the service. Brought a visiting friend there this week. He enjoyed the McDowell so much, he was still thinking about it the next day. Also, he compared the banana pudding to a proper banana cream pie, and it was the first time he's had the smoked kind of mac & cheese. All in all, super pleased that it passed the out-of-towner test as well.

Got there at 6pm on a weeknight. Plenty of seating, and great options on the menu. I got the pulled pork nachos which did not disappoint! Also had a Live Oak Hef which I appreciated was available. Definitely going back to try other items on the menu.

If you want really good BBQ, this place is a gem. Really cool, easy BBQ joint/ bar feel, great food and service. Got to speak with Claude, which was a pleasure...what a great guy!

It is surprising they don’t serve plates of meat with sides. They have a rib plate but that’s it. That’s why I ordered the nachos. Flavor was delicious but holy moly it was huge. When I was done, it didn’t look like I made a dent. I like the chopped pickles. The jalapeños were good too. The banana pudding was cute but was so thick. It was almost a paste. It felt really fatty and not light. But flavor was good. The atmosphere was eh. They were playing an inappropriate (albeit good) rap song when my young kids were with me but oh well, they didn’t care. And the shopping center is pretty run down

So I took a trip to Austin and discovered this gem. My mom and I had the pleasure of speaking with Claude and he definitely has earned this place some loyal customers. He put is on to the Austin Chronicle. The front cashier was super sweet and patient with helping us make our selections. (Sorry I can't recall your name) I really wasn't expecting the meat to be so tender and fall off the bone with the ribs. The fountain drinks were awesome as well. I chose the Prickly Pear juice. 🍐 We could not leave without trying the TUPAC pudding! This place doesn't disappoint. Continue to support this establishment!!

This place is not like your usual restaurant where servers come to your table to take an order. You go to the front desk and order once you get in. However, the lady at the front desk was helpful. It was my first time there and she was patience and recommended meals to us. The Nachos was amazing. I also had burger 😋. I will definitely go there whenever I am in Austin, Texas.

Delicious BBQ food! This is a great alternative to some of the other more popular BBQ places that may have excruciatingly long lines. Pictured is their brisket sandwich, mac and cheese, and baked beans. They also have fun and different sodas available at their soda machine. Would definitely recommend and come back again!!
