Amys Ice Cream

Dropped by on a hot 100F afternoon to cool off and to enjoy some unique ice cream. I have been a customer of Amy’s for over 30 years and they do not disappoint. My tried and true is Mexican vanilla and strawberries mixed into a waffle cone. The combinations they have are up to your imagination. Love this place for sure.

Their ice cream is literally some of the best I've had, and the staff is super sweet and friendly. While it is a little pricey for what you get, the ice cream is delicious, and honestly, the whole atmosphere is perfect for families and people wanting to sit back and relax. Definitely a great place to treat yourself to a sweet treat :)

My kids and I recently visited Amy's Ice Cream and we had a wonderful experience! The ice cream here is of great quality and the flavors are fantastic. We tried a variety of toppings and mix-ins, and each one was delicious and well-balanced. The staff at Amy's is also fantastic, they were friendly and helpful when it came to making our choices. We walked in and were quickly greeted with a smile. The employee went through all of our options in regards to ice cream and even gave us a little history nehind the nes as well as the Ice Cream Shop. She was a Super friendly woman and seemed to really enjoy what she does. We ordered our ice cream and enjoyed them both. The ice cream was good and nicely portioned.

I’m not a huge Amy’s Ice Cream fan and I know I’m in the minority. I like it, but I’m not a huge toppings mixed in my ice cream guy, and that’s their thing. Everyone else LOVES Amy’s - so don’t let my review keep you from trying it - I’m sure you’ll love it too! I think it’s a little pricey as well, but that makes sense since I’m not a toppings guy! Anyway, this location is new from when I was in Austin years ago - just across the street, very nice, clean and friendly staff. The picture is mint chocolate chip ice cream with crushed Oreos and marshmallows. Ya, too much going on in there for me - and for $9 I could have had a gallon of Blue Bell.

What a cute place and delicious ice cream. You still can't dine inside, but that was no problem because just a short block over is some really nice Austin murals! We took a stroll with our cones and cups of ice cream and made an evening of it. Fast and courteous service! We had a rather large group of indecisive teens, kids, and adults too! They were very patient!

Amy's ice cream is a Austin classic and it can't do you wrong. The staff is always friendly and cheerful and makes the experience a great time. You can't go wrong with any of there great flavors and combinations such as Mexican vanilla and sprinkles on a fresh waffle cone or their vegan chocolate with strawberries. Always stop by for great ice cream and a fun time!
