Brown's Bar-b-que

Being from Houston Texas and having barbecue from the likes of triple Js and places that have outstanding barbecue like that, once I visited Austin I didn’t know where I was going to find great barbecue; Well, I found a place and Brown’s is it! The brisket is juicy, it’s very moist. I love it when they put it between two slices of potato bread instead of the bun. The cabbage was outstanding. The pork ribs were delicious. My beef rib bone, well had come at the end of the day and it wasn’t quite as tender. However, I went back and got it again and that piece was extremely moist & juicy, although it is heavy with the black pepper! You simply MUST try that smoked turkey, heavenly! The barbecue sauce is delicious. I only wish they had french fries or a baked potato and or some type of cornbread to go with the cabbage. I get this place 4 1/2 stars.

The brisket was deliciously moist. Not over bearing with fat. The rich smokey flavor is very much present but not over powering. The boudin sausage was smokey, could be a little crisper but then it might fall apart but good flavors. I'm not a rib person but i would eat these again. The meat gently sits on the bone no requiring any effort . And the mac and cheese is deliciously creamy (needs a little flavor) and tastes better with brisket. The beans have small pieces of brisket can't say much about it since I'm not a bean fan. The potato salad is mustard based with pickles a little on the sweet side but good!

I have been going to Brown's BBQ literally, since the day that they opened 11 years ago. I walked outside of my work and smelled this amazing smoke and just had to follow my nose to find them. I have not had any BBQ in Austin that compares. A friend of mine had a dinner party where they had everyone bring BBQ from all over Austin and they did a blind taste test. Guess what...Brown's was the favorite, over all of the popular, well named BBQ places. This is how I feel about them. When I get my craving for BBQ I don't even try anywhere else anymore. No matter where I am, I make the drive to Brown's BBQ. And it's an amazing family that owns and runs it. You can even bring them your Turkey at Christmas and they will smoke it for you. It turns out so yummy. Thank you Brown's BBQ, you are the Best BBQ place in Austin.

This is the BEST BBQ there ever was!! I was sent this as a going away gift for leaving Texas and my job. I can’t tell you how amazing brisket and sausage was! As soon as you try to pick up a slice of brisket- it’s falling apart. 🤤 It’s heavenly and what everyone wants in BBQ. You won’t be disappointed!! I’m only sad that I just found out about this great family business that can serve the best food around Austin.

Lovely little food truck with a good selection of bbq and sides. I went at around noon on a Thursday and there was no line! Ordered a bit of a sampler- brisket, pork rib, beef sausage, potato salad, stewed cabbage, and banana pudding. The brisket and potato salad were my favorites. They also gave me a bit of both bbq sauces, one sweet (too sweet for my taste) and one tangy (this was awesome). The pudding was too whipped-creamy for my taste but I still managed to finish it :) Service was lovely, friendly and fast. I ate at the benches next to the truck and got a lid for my leftovers to take home. Decent number of parking spots right next to the truck, the other truck and shop next to Browns were closed when I went so I didn’t have any issues finding a spot. Congrats on 10 years Brown’s!
