Phil's Ice House

We were in the area and this place had great reviews. As soon as we walked in the door it smelled delicious! Gabriel at the counter was nice and super helpful too. Nice, roomy dining area and somewhat shaded playground that looks fun for the littles. As for the food, don't know what kind of buns these are but I loved em. We had the Crestview (chili burger) and also Highland Hills Chicken Sandwich. Cooked fresh and fries were perfect. We will definitely make the drive back from Georgetown to sample some other stuff on the menu.

First time eating here as my wife and I came to town to visit our daughter and son-in-law. All our burgers were outstanding. Service was very friendly. Love that you can get half regular, half sweet potato fries mixed (why don't more places offer that?). They were great, too, especially the sweet potato fries. The iced tea was outstanding. We have found that for whatever reason, clear iced tea is an indicator of how a place is going to be and Phil's didn't disappoint. The only negative was that this was literally the coldest restaurant we've ever been in. I mean ever. With high humidity outside air conditioners do tend to make everything even colder when running, but this was crazy town. Maybe the staff was hot in back and had cranked it to max, but with the setting on Arctic Circle, all the ceiling fans blowing on high, and two other oscillating fans blowing in the dining area it truly took away from the experience, and we weren't the only ones. When your food chills super fast and people are sitting on their hands in your dining room, that might be an indicator it's too cold. Just something to be aware of...

Their gluten free bun is the best, normal size, holds together. The French fries are cut larger so they're not dry. The meat was cooked over an open flame so it was crispy and delicious. They put a big chunk of lettuce on the burger along with all the regular veggies. Their veggie burger was good too. The service was knowledgeable about the menu. The dining area is large and clean. Very kid friendly. They have a playground. They have a great happy hour on weekdays.

Another Saturday that I woke up craving for a burger, so after watching marching band's performance, we headed to Phil's Icehouse for lunch. Since it has been a while (and, I was very hungry), I went all in by ordering the "Phil-A-Buster" which is a double meat, double cheese burger with onions, tomato, lettuce, pickles, mayo, and mustard. In addition, I also got a side of mixed fries that consisted of regular potato and sweet potato. The burger was cooked just right and with each bite, the juicy and tender beef patties reminded me that I made a great choice. It was very satisfying. The down side of finishing this burger was that I had no room left for Amy's ice cream...
