Pars Deli

Thanks subway for being out. I decided to try the wrap at subway and after being skipped twice while I wait for the "flat bread" to be defrosted(blah it looks like compressed fiberboarb) and being out of guacamole I walked out. Then I remembered Pars, yes let's go authentic. I was so glad after getting my gyro! Freshly carved and grilled, the pita so fresh and soft and the topping was creamy and herbal. And about the same price as subway. I hadn't been here for a while and there was a sign "new management",still great. However, the menu is a little smaller and no longer have fresh brewed tea.

Pars has a great selection of delicious, made exactly to order, fresh Mediterranean /Greek / Persian / Middle Eastern food. Great for lunch or dinner, dine in or takeout. Service is fast enough to be considered "fast food" but the healthy ingredients, delicious flavors, and presentation are that of fine dining. While waiting for your order, it's fun to look at shelves and shelves chock full of foods only found in specialty stores, if at all. Rices, teas, condiments, spices, vegetables, pickles -- the list goes on and on. They also have fresh bakery items like baklava. The staff is always very friendly and happy to answer questions and make suggestions. Delish!!!

I usually order kabob with rice in Pars, but I decided to go for Ghorme Sabzi this time. It is one of the most popular Persian stews and usually you don't get the authentic version in restaurants, but I decided to try my chances and I was amazed! It was really tasty, almost as good as a homemade dish, with the right portion size and like always, with a friendly service. It is one of the best places in Austin area for Persian cuisine.
