Bill Miller Bar-b-q

We have BBQ in Bastrop. Costs more than 2x's what Bill Miller charges. The BBQ was well seasoned and a delight to eat without sauce. The Tea was just the right strength to make an awesome glass after adding sweetener. I loved the potato salad. I wanted more, unfortunately I am diabetic. The fried okra was melt in your mouth good! I had both the sliced beef tacos and a rib. That rib was so good! My German shepherd Ben was with me and got the rib bone. And a little rib meat.. ok, very little meat! Ben liked everything also. 😀😀

My family and friends have been going to this location since there were traffic signals on Ben White Blvd. out front. We had a big order so we tried something new. Let's just say that even though we'll continue to be loyal customers, WE WILL NOT BE DOING ANY ONLINE PRE-ORDER EVER AGAIN . We get to the drive thru, and they eventually acknowledge they've received the order. We drive up to the window and they confirm the order before asking ask us to pull forward and park so they can bring it out to us. Spirits were high in the car and we were chatting back and forth. Someone eventually realized it had been a thirty minute wait. I walked in and it was packed up ready to go. Since it was taped up with doordash stickers I can only speculate that they were expecting a delivery driver to come and pick it up. Benefit of the doubt - maybe it was shift change and someone just forgot to tell the next person. I'm sure next time will be better.

My pulled pork sandwich was excellent! The seeded hoagie roll was just the right amount of bread, perfectly toasted, and gave way satisfyingly under the chomp. The pulled pork:slaw ratio was right on, and the mustard-based sauce was delicious. I would have probably added a little more sauce if I'd had it at the table, but I got a good taste of the pork, and the pork was fine. Not a huge sandwich, but a very good meal for most of us. I feel bad knocking this place for its spartan atmosphere. If it were swankier, I wouldn't have felt so at ease in my scumbag cutoffs and sandals. However, I probably wouldn't take a new romantic interest there, either. There's just no pleasing some people. With some aesthetic work, these folks could charge twice as much. The food is worth it. The team is friendly and service oriented; they're worth it. Otherwise, order for delivery with confidence, even with a new romantic interest.
