Schlotzsky's

The first time I had Schlotzsky’s, they used to be on South Congress, near the Continental Club (it’s an Amy’s Ice Cream now). I loved them as a kid. I was visiting for the first time in a long time and got an original for old times sake at this location. Ordered online and then arrived early. Someone came out to check on my name when I arrived and when it was going to be a few minutes delayed, was very nice about it. It tastes like I remembered and will go back when I return to Austin.

Just went through the drive through at Wm Cannon, fast and friendly service. However the cheese and broccoli soup is awful, it it is so dark and it has a flavor like it has been burning in the pot all day. I asked for the Turkey and avocado sandwich, I kid you not when I say there was only 1 slice of avocado in there.

After reading reviews and visiting this location I am convinced the person that responds to posts is either delusional or in denial. The good --food is usually good. Employees are friendly and do appear to be doing their jobs but are overwhelmed and prone to errors. Bad not enough employees (4 total including manager)to complete orders in a reasonable time frame. I waited 25 min tonight for a soup and sandwich. My girlfriend ordered at same time. My food came out hers did not . Wait longer and nada. Finally, I went and talked to them and 5min later her food came out a salad. Whomever responds to these reviews stop trying to make excuses and make changes. We don't spend time reviewing places to be called liars...

I LOVE Schlotzsky's in general, and I used to go to the old South Lamar location before it closed. That one was awesome - always clean, great food, and the staff were friendly. Since they closed, I've gone to the William Cannon location several times, and man, is it like night and day. Prior to the pandemic, the lobby was always dingy, and the food quality was waaay worse. Today we went through the drive thru, and they gave me the wrong sandwich with some weird sauce on it. After we left the line, there was a line behind us, so my partner tried to go in the lobby just to ask for some mustard. He was wearing a mask, but before he could even explain what he was there for, some employee starts screaming at him that he needs to leave. Very rudely, no "please" or calm explanation that the lobby was not open to the public. He managed to ask for the mustard, and someone else brought him some, but the whole thing was very unprofessional. Guess we'll try another location if at all. I would not recommend, y'all... EDIT: As for the owners response to this review, the issue was not that my partner was not allowed in the building. He mistakenly did not see the signage until he was exiting. If he had, we would have been fine waiting in the car. The issue and the point of this review was the rude way he was treated. He was yelled at. A professional would have calmly asked him to wait outside or pointed to the signage. The sauce on the sandwich was minor and just an explanation of why we got where we got and one of the many examples of how this location has lower food quality than others. Again, I would not recommend this location to anyone reading.

Schlotzskys is great. But this location is terrible. Do not eat here. You will get sick. They are unsanitary and do not care. Edit: Obviously from the owners reply to all these reviews he does not care about his store or customer service. Instead just rants on about things that are not accurate. Once again urging you not to go here. Just look at it from the outside. That tells the truth.
