Del Taco

The Mt Vernon, Bakersfield location for Del Taco is the worst Del Taco in the city and the worst fast food location I have frequented. I ceased going to this location years ago due to repeated problems with the food and service. I went recently when pressed for time. The drive through was empty at peak dinner time (which should have been a warning sign). I ordered and received a "Double Del" cheeseburger meal. When I got home and took out my food, I discovered the most mangled and squashed burger I've ever received from any restaurant. What are the chances that after years of avoiding this location that the very first thing I ordered would be messed up? Issues at this location are obvious and long term, indicating a management problem as it is hardly the same employees each time over a span of several years. I called Del Taco's customer service and they were great on the phone. However, the response I received a week later was lackluster to say the least - a $7.50 voucher (which doesn't even cover the price of a Double Del meal with tax) for the Mt Vernon location after I told them I would probably never return to that location. The fact that their response to my calm and in-good-faith feedback was a generic coupon was extremely disappointing. I hope it's not indicative of a pervasive corporate disinterest in quality control and that other Del Tacos will follow the same downward spiral.

I ordered 4 tacos 1 was a chicken soft taco and asked for no sauce but the person on the speaker cut in on me with every item I ordered like if they wanted me to hurry up. Food was good but better training is probably needed. It could also be though east side fast food just has this attitude instead of a pride in what they are doing. It reflects on the speaker and on the food.

Went thru the drive tbru yesterday and they forgot our chicken soft taco. Went back today to have it replaced, they replaced the whole order, not just the taco! I was so surprised and greatful! They also gave us a free menu item of our choice! We go a couple of times a week and this was actually the first time tbere has ever been an issue with our order. They more than made up for it! Also always fast and friendly!

Del Taco overrides Taco Bell anytime now because of their food is fresh more of a variety and the drive-thru is very fast no matter how busy they are they will make your order to your accommodations without any problem and their dollar iced coffee will get you zoom in for your entire day of running around I love the one off of Mount Vernon but I really love the one downtown off of 24th Street

I'm not sure what is going on with Del Taco in general. Cheesecake bites are getting smaller. No fresh cut limes for fish tacos. Fat tacos became flat bread tacos and now are gone. 😔. I think they should stop giving you your food in like 20 bags, stop filling our bags with packets of sause when we specifically asked for two packets, a handful of napkins, and stop spending extra time walking the food to parked cars from the drive through (in other words - reduce waste elsewhere and keep the FOOD up to quality). I come here for the food. Not the trash I'm left with afterwards.
