Le Corruse Rouge

I wasn’t sure about this place because from the outside it looked… weird. The inside looked like a scene from a Stephen King novel. NOT in a bad way though… it just gave off that vibe. Old school music playing with no one around. Empty bar with disco light illuminating the counter and seats. The lobby was empty and the dining room was dark… you get the idea. I ordered online because when I called no one picked up the phone. When I get there I find out that just only received my order just then even though I ordered 15 minutes prior. Now that might be their fault, but that ordering system is tied to their name so they need to take responsibility. I was then told that my order (fried catfish) had shrimp and chicken attached to it because “the website is confusing to understand.” No it wasn’t. I chose the fried catfish and there was no mention of shrimp or chicken tied to that dish at all. So they had to go back and give me more fish. She said she gave me 5 but only gave me four. And because they had to make more fish my fries were cold. My total was $18 and some change, but the meal was worth maybe $6. Nothing special about it at all, I would even say it was bland. I wanted to try this place out and now I have. I will not make a return trip.

The staff are extremely friendly. Use to live in Louisiana. Cajun and creole food are my favorite food to eat. Food was extremely flavorless. The flavor it did have was not Cajun or creole. Blackened shrimp wasn't even close to being that. Shrimp was gritty like it was dropped on the floor. Asked for diet Pepsi and received a drink that literally tasted like it had cleaning products in it. Asked for Dr. Pepper instead brought it out but it tasted like it was mixed with tap water instead of carbonated water and it was flat. The only good experience I had was the red beans and rice. They were really good. Rice wasn't exactly the type in red beans and rice but still good none the less. Cost me 19 dollars for this meal. I will not be back. Like I said extremely friendly and good red beans and rice, but not worth going there at all.

Went on Saturday night. One waitress doing everything. No lettuce on salad bar. Wait 20 mns for service. Another 15 mins for lettuce for salad bar. We were the only guests. Asked for tableware, another 10 mns. Long wait for food. Rice pilaf was white rice with seasonings sprinkled on top. Complained to manager about sad state of food. Reply was why did we eat any of it. Refused to offer any type of compensation so we were out of 60 dollars for 3 people and still hungry. Manager was very nasty attitude.
