It's a nice place on a sunny arvo for a beer but felt the prices didn't match the food. A small box of chips for $10 and the pizzas were undercooked.

Excellent service and food, housemade fries were a great suprise, the pickled octopus and s+p squid were brillant..we will be back

Went here for the first time today - only had a couple of starters and Belgian style Wheat Beer's... Place was great and staff very friendly. The Wheat Beer was good, and the starters where awesome. Weather was a bit cold, but staff brought out gas heaters which was nice.
Will definitely be back.
*(Note: the menu I found online seems to be different to what we had)...

Easter Sunday. COVID-decimated kitchen staff. Surviving staff pursued contact with us to an excellent standard just to let us know the kitchen would be closed for the day due to the lack of staff. Surviving staff offered to make us a reservation at another venue which we gladly accepted and we had a lovely day as a result. We recommend the Vernon Arms to anyone who expects excellent service.

Great beer but the steak burger was a bit disappointing as they appear to use some low quality bread which was so dry that I had to use the sauce which came with the chips to be able to eat it. My girlfriend ordered fish and chips and was also disappointed as the fish was dripping oil and wasn't very tasty either.

Dinner last night was VERY disappointing!
Both ordered the Sirloin & prawns! Hubby ordered medium steak, was over cooked and tuff with a lump of herb butter on top! Chips - unpeeled potato bits- Gross! Jus tasteless! 4 small cooked prawn -, Best part of the plate was the salad! Priced at $45. Definitely not worth it!!!
New to the area and will never return for dinner!!

Really enjoyed the meal. Only downfall we ordered an entre it never came out. We advised staff when they brought out our main however nothing was done. We went to pay and had to explain again. Besides that friendly staff and great food. 👍

For a quiet pint during the week or for a safe place to sink a few with mates over the weekend this is the place to go. Strongly recommend the whitelakes dark lager to enjoy during winter.
