On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina

Well I gave it five Stars all things considered. For a chain style restaurant it's right up there at the top. Restaurant look relatively new and very clean. Service was friendly but a little slow. given the time of day it might have been a little bit understaffed wasn't very busy at all. Look like the manager and a chef coat came out a couple of times to see if everything was going well, see that often anymore. Food was really good and portion sizes were more than adequate. Add a chile relleno combination and it was done the way I like it. I've had it fixed like that since I left California. I get to travel back to this area I definitely will return. There were several other items I didn't get to try on the menu.

I admit I was a little apprehensive about going to this place after reading the previous reviews. But I’m glad to say that I had a great experience. The server was very prompt and polite. She was not overly friendly nor brusque in her manner. She was a true professional. Thanks, Kelly! I ordered The Fiesta Trio with the tortilla soup, chicken fajitas, and the brownie sundae. The order was processed quickly and brought to my table sizzling hot! I was so full from all of it that I couldn’t even finish my dessert. Definitely going back, especially if they have other great servers.

I had a lovely dinner for one at this location. There were a couple other women eating solo as well and the host was very welcoming. Service was on par and I was not pressured to eat fast or order alcohol beverage. I like how the bar with TV's is open to the rest of the restaurant. Makes for a casual lobby like eating, especially when solo. Would definitely come back again solo and (of course, with friends!) I ordered the steak street tacos and they were delicious, a little on the cheesy side.

This casual Tex-Mex chain restaurant is adequate. Especially when you’re in hurry, hangry, and just can’t pick just one appetizer to quite your stomach, then Border Sampler will suffice. The Border Sampler comes with chicken quesadillas, fajita steak nachos and mini chicken chimis. I also tried calling their chicken fajitas during another visit. It was pretty good. Great service and friendly staff.

We had been to this restaurant one other time and had a great experience then so we decided we wanted to take our grandsons back there after taking them to visit the aquarium. So, we finally found the restaurant (kinda got turned around downtown) and at the time of day that we went,j it was only slightly crowded. We did not have to wait for a table, we were greeted very happy and friendly host, and we were seated quickly. The restaurant itself was very clean and organized. Our server took their drink order within a minute or two and she was awesome taking care of the boys. She gave us adequate time to decide what we wanted and was very polite when she would ask us if we were ready, plus she had brought a basket of tortilla chips and salsa when she gave us the menus. She took her orders and it wasn't long before we had our food! The orders were correct, hot and tasted wonderfully!! Going to this restaurant was definitely the right decision that evening. We had a wonderful time, excellent food and friendly people that took care of us! What more could you ask for?!

Had a good time here Food was pretty good but I'm picky with my "mexican inspired" food. Chicken fajitas There was Corn in rice, but it had a good consistency, not very seasoned. Beans were also not seasoned but was still good. Chicken well spiced which was surprising, good caramelized onions, pepers not seasoned. Chicken tortilla soup Best soup ever. It looks awful, but it tastes great. It had some zucchini in it, and I was sceptical, but it was perfect. Only thing could have been better were the tortilla chips and the avocado was useless. Appetizer 'Sampler' Great queso! Mini Chimis were great. Could pass on the nachos. Fantastic quesadilla. Chimichanga Chimi - cheese - not oilly, moist Good flavors Waiter Shamar 8/10, took a second to warm up to us, but was then super great. Very helpful. Dessert Worst part of the whole meal brownie was so disappointing, freezer burn ice cream, Susan used the box brownie. Price Did a daily special so it came out to a great price.

I come to this restaurant often, and for good reason. It's good, reasonably priced, fantastic scenery, and best of all is their service I always have a full glass and someone is available if needed. I had one bad experience with our waitress and never got a refill (I base my tip on if my glass gets refill and how often, all I drink is water)
