Mike's Pizza House Of Arbutus

My wife and I, well mostly ME :) are always searching for a local non commercial pizza place. Today we found it! The pizza is absolutely amazing!! A nice thick crust to hold the toppings, and generous amount of mozzerella! The staff is so nice and friendly. They all were constantly busy! Mike, the owner, told me about the restaurants history while making our pizza. Such a nice guy, and hard worker. Now the bad news. They have been there since 1959, and due to the COVID-19, like so many local businesses, they were hit hard and will be closing NEXT WEEKEND. :( Get down there while you can! I believe in miracles. Let's try and save this institution of Arbutus!!

A couple of years ago i gave this place five stars for their meatball sub. Well today we ordered two meatball subs both subs only had two meatballs and very little sauce on them and the meatballs fit about 3/4 of the Roll. My biggest complaint would be the gentleman that took our order and took our money is the one that cut the roll and made our sandwiches without any gloves on. I definitely will not be going back there again. UPDATE after about 10 days after this happened I decided to call the owner to complain about it. I talked to the owner's wife and told her about it, she was sorry to hear what happened and was willing to remake the sandwiches, but unfortunately after that first experience I couldn't go back again even for the free sandwiches. I did update my stars because she did care.

Delicious food in Arbutus! I had the works with no anchovies or olives. I also got a cheese steak and a pizza sub. They were all delicious. They have a very nice pizza oven in the store where you can see your food being made. I enjoyed the crust and the sauce. I only have a picture of my reheated leftovers, because I was too busy chowing down. It also tastes great reheated!

Mike's Pizza, in my opinion, is an unstated/unspoken staple and landmark of Arbutas, MD as far as I'm concerned. I remember as a child in the early 1970's going there to get "submarine sandwiches" with my father to take home to where we lived on Gloria Avenue off Westland Blvd. I remember playing the slot machine they had there to pass time while they put our order together is a memory that will always stick with me. The fact that Mike's is still in operation after all these years must be a testimony to what the do.
