Phoenix Cafe

Visited today and had a lovely lunch. Hubby had Mexican Burger and I had chicken kebab. Both generous portions, well presented and good value . Lovely ambience and really friendly and efficient service. Chef asked if we enjoyed our meal which shows they care. Also one of the nicest cappuccinos I have had. Will definitely return

As we walked up to the cafe, we were welcomed by one of Bangor's peakcocks that can be found wandering the town. Quite a strange site but fascinating to see. The Phoenix is a cracking cafe. We had a lovely breakfast and very nice coffee. Got to be honest we weren't sure about the place when we initially walked by. It's hard to figure out exactly what it is. Looks like a cross between a nightclub and a takeway on the outside. Once inside, though, we were surprised at the interior and size. It's a big place, nicely done. The service was impeccable with a very busy waitress making sure everyone was sorted. I went for a full English breakfast, which I rarely go for these days. I'm glad I did, though, as it was very tasty, and there was a very nice coffee to go with it.

We got breakfast here before the long drive home. Our little boy was feeling unwell and the staff were very friendly and so accommodating for us all. The food was good and very reasonably priced. It's not everyday you can order a Turkish breakfast but I'm really glad I did! The place was spotless and very uniquely decorated. The music was different to the modern rubbish played in most places - a nice mix of 60s and the occasional Turkish pop song. A real unique gem of a place. Would definitely visit again!

We were looking for a small venue for a wedding reception of 40-50 guests. We were recommended Phoenix and came for food a couple times and decided we would like to have our wedding here, especially given the recent price hike in hotels and how busy they were post-pandemic. We went for a chat with the owner and discussed what we would like for our special day. Buffet, meal for everybody, set up, music etc. They were very friendly and helpful, (it's a family run business) you can tell that they take pride in what they do. The big day came and they did not disappoint. Food started coming out when expected! Due to the small size of the venue the food could not come out all at once, but this wasn't a problem since it all came out quickly. Worth mentioning no orders were mixed up and despite he volume of food, the quality never slipped. The girls bringing the food out were so polite and kept everyone happy. They kept our cake safe in the back for the cutting and then the buffet came .. absolutely delicious and generous portions for only £20/person. Oh and the baklava's were absolutely incredible, best I have ever had. I would definitely recommend this place for a coffee, food or an event. It made our day special and given they have only been around for a couple of years I know it will only get better. The only drawback is parking, but this is not the fault of the venue and places are available nearby. Bangor needs more places like this , so giving it a 5/5.
