The Tamale House

We have been to this business 3 times to try it out. The first time we walked in at 6:45 pm and immediately told they were closed even though the sign said open and the door was still unlocked. The second time, we went by about 6:20 pm and the business was closed. Today, was our third and FINAL attempt to taste some tamales or flautas from The Tamale House. We arrived about 5:45 this evening and they were open, both my daughter and I happy to try the tamales, but everything we wanted to order they were out of. All out of anything chicken!! The young man behind the counter was not very friendly either, he did not greet us, he said nothing until we tried to order and all he said is we are out of it, I expressed my disappointment in trying to make the attempt to provide them some business and he just looked at me with a blank face. Sad to say, we left without attempting to try anything....

The tamales are pretty solid albeit a bit expensive. The Spanish rice and beans are acceptable but the most unforgiving thing I had in my few visits there was the god awful nachos. Fake cheese, cold meat, on microwaved store-bought tortilla chips. They also happened to run out of avacado for which I had already paid extra for. More meat was substituted without consulting us and no refund was given. It was pretty dang awful. I might come here if it were the last place on earth.

Horrible service! I really wanted to give this place more stars because the Chile Relleno is fantastic and I love the pork tamale. This is the second time I have been here and the man working behind the counter is NOT friendly at all! He acted as if it was an inconvenience to have customers. He was rude and unfriendly to me but nice to the white lady behind me! He offered her salsa but when I asked he kept his back turned and said "it's over there". WTH??There were no Rellenos and all he could say was he didn't know when they would have some. Not professional at all. The beans were cold and gross. Bad business!

There was a completely intacked roach cooked into my tamale.when returned to the restraunt he said it wasnt a bug.so I asked customers in the store and they confirmed.and he finally gave me a refund.was treated horribly. They called security. Which was great because he confirmed it was a bug as well. Disgusted with the business here.

I can't tell you the level of disrespect I felt this evening at the Beaverton locationt. My wife and I walked in at 6:35 on Tuesday evening (they close at 7:00), excited to try this place. We moved from New Mexico a year ago and were hopeful to eat something authentic. We walked into the resturant and were promptly told that they were out of food. Surprised, I questioned the person behind the counter how that was possible. He explained that you were out of tamales, so he put away all the food. I asked him what he did have that he could serve and he explained nothing and it was too hard to bring everything back out. His attitude was rude and calous. I asked him for his name. He explained he didn't have to tell me. I asked him for his manager/owners name and number. He explained he didn't have to and wouldn't tell me. The conversation ended with him telling me and my wife to have a nice life. He turned around and we walked out. I don't know who would find this acceptable, and really it doesn't matter. I can guarentee we will not be going back. I have never been so disregarded as a customer. I have never been treated with such a lack of respect.
