Lazy Claire Patisserie

On the edge of Belfast, near what looks like an industrial estate, lies Northern Ireland’s best kept secret. A patisserie that puts to shame any in London and most in Paris. A true gem in the rough. Where to start; such delicious and creamy Paris Brest, perfectly tart lemon meringue pie, delicately balanced eclairs, warm, flaky buttery croissants. Lazy Claire came as a delightful surprise on the first day and rapidly became the highlights of our days. Fuelling up with every pastry available and single origin coffee while taking large to-go boxes full of ‘one of everything’ to face the rainy days that count as NI’s summers. The Patisserie Chef (french trained) could probably teach a thing or two to some of the Grand Chefs out there. Cedric Grolet and the Connaught should visit for tips. Charming team, friendly service and quite an experience. Please open new branches in London to show them how its done!

They may seem a touch on the pricey side but trust me these pastries are worth every penny and more! Superb food in a wonderfully light, yet cosy environment. The coffee and pastries are exquisite, the service exceptional - a real gem to have in East Belfast! Been in twice with my dog after walking along the greenway, and can't wait to go again.
