202 Hometown Tacos

I rarely write restaurant reviews, let alone poor ones, but the experience I had here earlier in the month was outstandingly bad. We sat ourselves per the sign, and waited. And waited. And waited. I immediately got the impression they were short-staffed, so I was willing to be patient and understanding. We were ready to politely attempt to flag down staff... but only if there were any to be found! After close to 30 minutes without any interactions, the bartender goes, "did she see you guys yet?" We shake our heads no. The bartender quite literally throws two menus down at an open space on the bar and says irritably, "we'll get to you...when we can." Another 10 minutes goes by and our waitress comes over and takes our drink orders. It then takes 20 minutes to get a beer and a cup of water. Meanwhile, there are tables of guests who came long after us that already have their food (?!?) and guests who had been there before us still WITHOUT drinks. We order food after about an hour of sitting. The food comes out about 20 minutes later, and the menu says my meal should come with rice. I ask the waitress when she brings the food out and she replies, "yeah, we don't do that anymore...But I can make you some rice. It'll only take 5 minutes." I decided not to hedge my bets, despite her willingness to be accommodating, and at this point we also requested the check. As we're waiting to pay, another staff member comes out from the back and goes up to one of the tables that was seated after us yet served both food and drink before us. She starts chatting with the customers, and then I legitimately watch her toss two menus on a different table with guests, who had been waiting several minutes, and gives no acknowledgement of them. We almost left several times throughout the meal, but at that point we were so close to running late for another commitment it seemed better to hold out. I could prepare better tacos at home; everything was sub-par at best. The mediocrity of the experience was unbelievable. It's truly a shame, as many reviews and anecdotes from neighbors and friends rave about this place.

One of our favorite small business restaurants. My hubby and I were just reading the reviews and shocked how harsh people are. 1st. If you are looking for authentic Mexican Cuisine then look for a restaurant that advertises it. This place has a fun twist of tacos. Never seen them say authentic. 2nd, you clearly see them struggling to find staff and you bash them for service issues. We go in and are always treated well , and even told to please just be patient. We love the nacho! Damn we can barely walk after eating them and a couple margs!. Funny how people will quickly leave a bad review and never think of giving a good one. Well here's to you 202 Hometown Tacos. We think you are pretty damn great !

Solid cantina. Service was good. They had 2 taco specials: salmon & chorizo. I got those and the BBQ Pulled Pork. All were excellent. My girlfriend got the Bellevue Bowl which was delicious bowl of comfort food. Beer selection is what an early 2000's craft beer bar would have had. Margaritas are good but I couldn't detect any tequila so it's more like a tasty wine cooler and, for the price, no complaints there.

I have been wanting to eat here since they opened. My husband had warned me that I wasn't going to like it. Anyway, I nagged him to take me. I was Jonesing for Street corn. He takes me and I ordered Pulled pork Nachos with a side of Street corn. After we waited for the only server which was also the Bartender. She was nice enough. We did wait a while and It wasn't busy. When we received our food, my husband's was fine. Taco with beef and lettuce. Mine looked great honestly, but didn't come out with my Street corn. I asked twice for my corn and another lady gave me a bowl of corn followed by my server giving me a small plastic dressing cup of corn. It was cold Corn salsa and not St. Corn as ordered. I was surprised that it wasn't what I had ordered. When I complained about what I expected, the waitress was like oh yeah we dont have Street corn. Although it was on the menu. My Pork in my Nachos tasted reheated like yesterday's lunch. I was dissatisfied just as my husband had warned me. The Bartender/ Waitress seemed more interested in who was at the bar. I didn't complain because I got the feeling it wasn't going to matter much. As I believe that the owner may have been there at the bar. Lesson learned. I wouldn't go back. I'd rather have Taco bell compared to this. Nice looking place for sure but bad food and service. I spent some cash for trash.

They have the most amazing tacos. Their philly cheesesteak is the best. This little hole in the wall taco stop is a definite recommend for trying out. They sometimes have beer pong tournaments too. The food comes out fresh and piping hot. The staff are very friendly. And their whiskey sours sours are well made. Would absolutely vote hands down if tacos were on the menu.
