The Epicurean Delicatessen

Raelene, Lara and their team did an amazing job catering our wedding. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was exactly what we wanted. We got great quality and in such a quantity. We couldn’t be happier with the food, and all of our guests left satisfied. Excellent staff, delicious food and in such a huge quantity, what more can you need.

Food is good. Though we had to remind them to bring out the honey for our tea and the second coffee. The pancakes really needed cream, the syrup was very sweet and needed the cream to break up that sweet syrup. Otherwise the food was delicious. It would have been great to have the butter on a little side dish as well. The butter melted and fell off pankaes into the maple syrup. Will try again. I'd suggest sitting out the back, it's a lovely little outdoor area.

With new owners on the sign board we entered the Epicurean Deli in Mitchell st. Staff member Carlo made us welcome from the moment we entered and while we were deciding on something from great range of "Italian style" dishes, Carlo suggested to try a Sri Lankan dish called an Egg Hopper with coconut Sambal (Not always on the menu) I did and absolutely loved it. My wife ended up with Eggs Benedict, fabulous. The coffee was great and the prices reasonable.So many choices and all look delicious. Also, talk to Carlo about Italian and French cheeses. Fabulous. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our "brunch" at The Epicurean

what a pretentious experience we had. eggs benedict and coffee. hollandaise actually had NO taste. the hash brown is just a common old home brand variety and was almost dripping in oil. the bread was meant to be sourdough. however, i recognise the look as helgas. the coffee was a massive disappointment. lukewarm, weak. meant to be strong. the eggs were of a very good quality as seen by the incredibly rich golden yolks. they tasted magnificent, and were cooked perfectly. the bacon was also cooked very well. however, not much of it. would have been lucky to have been one rasher. EXPENSIVE, POOR QUALITY BREAD AND HASH BROWN. PATHETIC COFFEE. won't be going there ever again. especially when i noted how expensive all their other food and products are! a bowl of soup (and a medium size, not a big bowl), is...... $13!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! could make a massive saucepan full for less than that!!!!! nope, will not be going there again. ever.
