Orchid

We had an amazing buffet dinner family get together at The Orchid. Special thanks to Mr. Rakesh and team for great hospitality. Also, to the chef, who took our feedback about the food served. A little expensive but calm place, decent ambience and good hospitality by Mr. Rakesh. Only place that needs improvement is the restroom. It was not upto the brand.

We stayed at the Fortune JP Palace in Mysuru, before heading off to Kodagu the next morning. Though it was just a one night stay, it came with complimentary breakfast and we managed to catch it early before driving off to Coorg. We paid around 6000 including taxes per room, which included complimentary breakfast for three people, and I felt it was a great deal. Food wise everything was very delicious, I personally liked the medu vada, the fresh fruit and vegetable juice selection, the eggs to order and the sausages in sauce. The french toast and pancakes on the buffet were a little sad and dry, so we asked for some freshly made ones, which were delivered happily, although a bit delayed. The sausages were absolutely perfect, though it was in a mushroom based sauce, which I loved. The kids however requested for plain sausages, the breakfast team made a fresh batch for us and served it to our table, I was extremely happy with that, as it made the kids happy. The potato poppers were crispy delicious and kids loved them too. The eggs made to order were superb, my mushroom and cheese omelet did come with onions and tomatoes, which I requested to exclude, and BIL's egg white omelet never came. The fresh bakes were good too, though I did not get to try all of them. Overall it was a fantastic spread, with good live counters, service was little less than adequate with a few orders missed, misplaced in the morning rush. Maybe we were spoiled by the level of attention we got during our Staycation at ITC Windsor, Bangalore, and had huge expectations.

The restaurant is at the ground floor of Fortune park JP Celestial. But however the restaurant was closed until now and just opened (in December 2021). They are operational in very limited capacity. We went there to have lunch and the only items on offer were Chicken Chettinad and sarson ka fish curry. In starters, only tandoori tikka kebab was there. No other dish or mocktail is available. The restaurant manager said they may open fully from next month. So please conscious of this fact and plan your dining experience accordingly. Suggest to call before coming to this restaurant to confirm their availability of services.

This place was amazing. We went at around 4 when we did not expect any proper food. However we got Chicken Dum biriyani and Rosemary Grilled Chiken. The food was amazing, sumptuous and also filling. The rice was perfectly cooked and the Chicken was equally good. Very soft, tender, juicy Chicken. Really impressed with the food and ambiance of the place.
