The Colony Gastropub

We went here for a little office party during lunch. I think this is one of the more premium places at HSR Layout. The food looks stellar and almost tastes as delicious. The delivery is slow, but the quality is very good. I appreciate that they keep an eye on you and bring out the dishes gradually. The decor is clean and the place has an amazing ambience. 5/5 for that. Coming to the food, like I said before, the food looks stellar and almost tastes that good. Their presentation is pretty good and as you can see from my pictures, they look amazing, but, a lot of the dishes lack the "wow" factor. The biryani was a disappointment and that's one of the primary reasons that the review wasn't 5/5. I highly recommended the Chicken Tandoori and Grilled Chicken breasts as those are the two best dishes I've had a couple of times that are consistently mind-blowing. I love the attitude of the staff as they are friendly and courteous. I personally believe this place deserves somewhere in the ballpark of 4.1-4.5. You should book a table for a great experience 😁 Also, I almost forgot. The desserts blew my mind too. The chocolate mousse is sinful pleasure and the strawberry cheesecake was yum. The Colony Gastropub 🍸 A British term for a public house that specialises in serving high quality food. New Gastropub concept in HSR on 27th main road. HSR's 27th main road is one of the most happening roads in Bengaluru. There are good number of restaurants openings in HSR often. Colony adds to the list. They have lower first floor and roof top. Roof top has attractives like vertical pots and graffiti. These are some of the highlights of the rooftop. Address Next to Uber office, 3rd & 4th floor, PWD Quarters, 27th main road, HSR Layout. Ambience Rooftop & Decor Ambience with Rooftop seating. We headed to Rooftop. There were good number of people dining. 3rd floor has indoor seating with non smoking area. They do have smoking area in 3rd floor. 4th floor has live screen and open kitchen. Rooftop has Graffiti & Vertical hanging pots. I recommend rooftop for the energetic ambience. Ordered • Drinks - Whiskey Whisper - Coffee Mojo - Mekong - TCO - The Colony Oasis • Food - Peri Peri Chicken - Prawans with Garlic Cream - Cowboy Chicken Nachos - Chicken & Mushroom Pizza • Desserts - Lavander Panna Cotta with a Light Blueberry Sauce - Classic Belgian Chocolate Brownie with Chocolate Syrup - Creme Caramel. • Whiskey Whisper - Combination of Whiskey, Pineapple, Basil & Soda. • Coffee Mojo - Combination of Whiskey, Hazelnut, Coffee & Cream. I recommend this cocktail for coffee lovers. It was unique in taste. • Mekong - Combination of Vodka, Galangal, Lemon Grass, Sour Mix & Soda. It was more of citrus in taste. • TCO - The Colony Oasis - The unique and signature combination of White Rum, Cucumber Piece, Cucumber Syrup, Mint, Lime Chunk & Soda. This was something like signature item from Colony's menu. I recommend management to please concentrate on the cocktails menu. Cocktails were really good in taste, but something was missing in every Cocktail. According to my knowledge, Coffee Mojo has no remarks. It is one the best item from the Bar menu. • Peri Peri Chicken - Tandoor grilled chicken drumsticks marinated in their homemade peri peri sauce. It was served with mayonnaise. It was too oily. Peri Peri was spicy and good in taste. • Prawns with Garlic Cream - Succulent shrimps served in a rich garlicky parmesan cheese sauce. Served with Garlic Bread. This item was recommended by my friend. • Cowboy Chicken Nachos - Classic preparation of Cripsy fried Mexican tortillas with our own choice of toppings and cream • Butter Chicken Poutine - The Colony's version of this Quebecois classic comes with tandoori chicken chunks, butter chicken gravy, spring onion, coriander, green chillies topped with cheese curds on a bed of fries. I highly recommend this item for munchies. One of the best munchies I had from the menu. • Chicken & Mushroom Pizza - Chicken & Mushrooms tossed with garlic & herbs, baked & finished with oregano chilli flakes & garlic salt. Base was thin crust. Topping were fresh. Main Course were good and Colony's Food menu has a good number of options to choose. Butter Chicken Poutine was one of my favorites. • Lavender Panna Cotta with a Light Blueberry Sauce - Panna Cotta cooked with Lavander essential oils. Light purple in colour served with a very light honey sauce and blueberries. It was served in Cocktail glass. It was much like cheese cake. It was chill served. • Classic Belgian Chocolate Brownie with Chocolate Syrup - Rich Chocolate Brownies topped off with chocolate sauce. It was much like Brownie biscuit. It was really hard. Brownie was not heated before serving. • Creme Caramel - A set custard dessert with Golden caramel. Caramel was too sweet. Overall The Colony Gastropub impressed me. Management have to concentrate on some cons like Cocktails, Desserts & Washrooms. Located on the prime roads of HSR. I wish management to maintain and improve much more in comings days for healthy & good business.
