The Urban Turban

We got this recommendation on a Reddit thread and they said this is one of authentic North Indian dhaba style restaurant. At first the decor and the lights and seating is maybe slightly unusual but my friend and I enjoyed the weird tyre chairs and drew and with a wooden board for sitting. We ordered a lot of veg items than non veg and we realised the the Jon veg is a bit and a miss and not great. Veg : we tried the urban turban stuffed paneer tikka and it was the highlight of the evening it was super delicious. Naan, kulchas, paneer curry dishes and the dal Lakhan’s was absolutely delicious. Non veg: the chicken patiala had a weird indo Chinese taste and was very bad. Chicken starters were average nothing too great. We didn’t go for any curries given the starters and the patiala was a flop Beverages : masala coke is refreshing and the buttermilk is yummy We went during the World Cup so they had these really fun cricket players placards in the entrance. Also they play loud punjabi music hits so it’s kinda fun!

I love this place because of it's ambience, music, and the vibes.. Tasty food, love the Punjabi style of dhaba.. Now the sitting arrangement is changed so it's not having the khatiya based sitting which we enjoyed a lot before.. Anyday, when in doubt we go to this place.. Good for arranging parties with family and friends.. Should keep more options in liquor beverage.. All is great with this place 😊🤩

I miss the authentic highway Punjabi dhabas which re there in my hometown in Bengal. Searching for a that sort of Highway Punjabi dhaba I found The Urban Turban . This place is a exactly like a typical highway Punjabi dhaba. It’s situated far away in Sarjapur road . The place has 3 vast seating areas. One of the seating areas has khatiyas like how you have in local highway dhabas. We chose table-chair seating options. The ambience of this place is full with 90s retro feel which is absolutely awesome. The decor is such that you will be transported to a village eatery which is large. The place is airy , and kids do have a lot of space to run around. The menu consists of all those by-default punjabi dhaba menu food items. The food items were all good. They do freshly prepare tandoori , kababs, and most of their food items. Alcoholic drinks are also served here on the table. They don’t have a bar counter. This is essentially a family restaurant with Dhaba style getup. Go to this hotel for good food and ambience. This is not a fine dining restaurant. I have seen some performance stage and areas. Probably they are used for live band performances. They have a small and clean handwash basin. They also have separate washroom areas for men and women. The washroom cleanliness is decent .
