Yojisan Beverly Hills

One of the best Omakase in LA. Yojisan is creative and uses the best and freshest seasonal ingredients. He is very attentive and makes sure your meal is going at your pace. Weather you're eating fast or slow, he serves his dishes timely. There is always something new and special on the menu board and sometimes he will pull something out of the back that is super exotic for an Omakase. It's my go to sushi.

I've been coming here for quite a while and every time I've been here, the service has been good...food too. I am very basic when it comes to sushi. I'm not into the overkill of stuff like the CA Rolls, etc. I usually get the Salmon Nigiri with truffle oil. Yellowtail is really good too. Really good wasabi....that really matters. I've also ordered the lobster fried rice in the past...that was really good.

Take advantage of the Happy Hour menu from 5 - 7pm ($7.50 per plate). Best dish was the crispy risotto (4 pieces) - to die for - and the Hamachi and jalapeno (3 pieces) which just melts in your mouth. The mixed tempura was good but not all that exciting and the sea bass tacos were a little bit of a let down as I found them a little too fishy for my taste. Chicken teriyaki (not on the happy hour menu) was also well executed as was the miso soup (also not on the happy hour menu). The space has a nice organic minimalist vibe with greenery and bark arranged along the walls. Service is prompt and courteous. Yes the portions are small and definitely expensive but the food is real quality japanese cuisine.
