La Nortena

Hm... The picture I post with this review is "huevos rancheros"... yeah right. Beans and rice tasted weird and the rice was dry. The only saving grace was my husband's small tacos he had. I wouldn't really recommend this restaurant. There are better places that offer better and larger portions for the price we paid. :(

Would definitely check your food before eating it. It was good while it lasted 😔 but DON'T want to be EATING HAIR 🤮 and God knows what else.. The young girl who works the counter is super rude to other ethnicity. I pre-ordered and was told to come in an hour.. I got there a little bit later to allow additional time just in case. When I came to the counter the young girl had me pay and when I asked do you know how much longer she said 5 min but that turned into 30 min. As other Hispanic customers came in, ordered and ate she walked right pass me checked on them and totally disregard giving me any kind of update on my order or let me know it would be a few more min. After 45 min of waiting I went to the counter again and she seem annoyed with me for asking 😒 how much longer...she told me 5 more min. At this point I was scared to eat the food thinking she may do something to it. Then to top it off went there the other day thinking hey maybe it's just me. Sent my son in to order and get food and he too was treated rudely and we found STRAINS of HAIR 🤢 throughout out food... 🤮 Would definitely check your food before eating it. It was good while it lasted 😔 but don't want to be eating hair and God knows what else..

If I could give zero stars I would. I have tried this place three different times. The first time I ordered Carne asada I got carnitas. The next time I ordered the tacos and hubby got a burrito the tacos were sub par and the burrito had nothing inside it that it was supposed to have and the things he did not want were in it. Today was the 3rd and final time (only been 3 times as it is so close) We went in and they brought the chips and salsa and queso we ordered. Chips were stale. Had the waitress tried one and agreed. Then she said that was all the chips they had??? Then they brought my burrito it was cold and again didn't have what it was supposed to be in it. We then sat there and decided we were not going to waste the money as they had not brought my husband's food or our dinner guests food either, as we are leaving they are trying to bring another player that again was wrong. Hubby doesn't like beans it had beans and they were dry and crusted. And again was cold. I will never be back. Seems like they treat the hispanic people ( or the ones they assume are as I am also hispanic) different then the ones they assume are white. As I watched food come out piping hot and before our food even though we got there prior and ordered. I will never again go and it is sad because I do love the teinda. But I will not spend any more money there on either side.

I would post photos but I keep eating everything before I review. This is just my second time here. But I've had five different types of tacos and really enjoyed them all. I'm a bit of a taco junkie so I haven't eaten anything else yet. But their tacos are excellent as are the sauces that you get with them. Everything is priced as individual items. 3 or 4 tacos should be plenty for anyone. The first visit with a 16.9oz bottle of coke cost me just under 10 bucks. And I wasn't hungry afterwards. This time I had 4 and I am definitely full. I think the tacos run about 2.25 or 2.50 each. The restaurant itself is attached to a store and only has about 8 or 9 tables. But it's definitely a nice place to sit, have a meal and a drink.
