I went for a drink here yesterday afternoon and I love the layout. My first thought was opium den, but I assure you the place was drug-free. It was the decor that gave me that thought. The bartender was friendly and the drinks were good. The ambience of the place is laid back and stylish and I’ll happily go back again.

Absolutely loved this place. My second visit but first with family members. The staff and customers were more than willing to make us all feel welcome and put up with our crazy family antics whilst playing board games and causing general mayhem. Apologies again to anyone in to around the location for our loudness.

This place is amazing, Andrea the morning host is brilliant. She knows her coffee better than anyone. She makes the best coffee I have ever tasted. When I go in I just say surprise me with a new drink and she never fails. I would have given 5 stars but because Andrea is not there on Monday, I have to go on Tuesday, starting my week without her amazing coffee.

A great pub to relax in and casual dining venue in the heart of Kings Heath. Superb beer selection, good food with knowledgeable and friendly staff. It's a truly unique space that offers a seductive ambience; an ideal place to unwind and while away the hours. Black Lab offers an alternative backdrop to the standard pub, a gem of a place and one which I visit time and time again. Enjoy.

Such a quaint coffee shop! The server was so kind and attentive to everyone sitting in and made a cute and delicious drink!

Nice ambience, good coffee, good falafel wrap and accompanying salad. Both food and coffee seemed a cut above what gets served in some other places, and didn't disappoint, as they sometimes can. The staff were pleasant and chatty. So all in all, very happy with my first visit there, even if all the mainstream 80s music was giving me something of a flashback to my teenage years, and made me feel like I needed to go home and do my Geography homework afterwards...

Open again for eat-in. My favourite Kings Heath cafe. Good coffee (coconut milk served), friendly staff, great chill soundtrack and a tasty vegan carrot & pistachio cake. Feels like home from home. Becomes a great little bar at night with decent mocktails and good music.

Great coffees, really good beer selection (especially if you're a fan of the German style ABK like I am) in a really comfy setting. Great way to warm up with a coffee or have a couple of relaxed drinks in an evening in a lovely setting. Currently offering takeaway service but will be sure to walk through their doors again when possible. Great service and friendly staff!
