Sarchnar Shawrma

Heard good things, popped in to try their food, ended up getting a take out order. We were served some nice hot lentils (dhaal) type homemade soup whilst waiting as originally we were going to eat in but later decided to take the order home to eat instead as I was tired from work and knew I’d want to ko with a food coma afterwards! We ordered a large mixed platter for £40 to serve 4. Generous portion size and contained all their grill range on a bed of different styles of their rices, nicely presented and hot. Topped with fresh made soft and fluffy naans. Got their Ayran carton to take away but if I ate in next time I’d try their own shop mixed version out of their mixer machine to see what that one is like. The carton one was very nice and brand I like. Overall the food was. All really nice, Kurdish cuisine had a different taste to Turkish food so you can’t compare the two even though they look the same. Hot and hearty food for a cold winters night went down well, naans were a pleasant surprise and really soft and fluffy throughout, just needed some sauces I had at home to elevate it for my own personal preference and it really did put me to sleep! The staff were also really nice and polite, I appreciate the hospitality as they were being really kind to us all the time we were there, so thank you.

What a fantastic Kurdish joint in the heart of Handsworth serving a fantastic menus whether it's a quick shawarma sandwich, grill platter, lamb or chicken kozi - it's a place for you. Staff is super friendly giving you enough time to look through the menu and explain the items well if you request more information. I took the lamb kozi with chickpea side and comes with Nan bread, rice and soup as standard. The taste was really good and everything tasted on point. Staff got confused and took my drink away while I went to wash my hands before I have the tea however fantastic service when I wasn't charged. A must visit if you are in Birmingham and fancy some Kurdish food.

Absolutely loved it from start to finish. Lots of options available to choose from. The best sellers the chicken and lamb Shawarmas. Gutted they were finished but that's my fault because we came towards closing time and we left at 9:30, we were the last ones in the shop and they never rushed us into leaving. That is amazing and great customer service. Next the Lamb kuzi is a must as well as the Sheesh spicy kebab, and you acnt miss the wings. Proper rich authentic food man from another culture. Kurdish I think not 100% sure. Great for families and plenty of seating.
