Deutsch Apple Bakery

We stayed at Blanco State Park and couldn’t wait to try the pies here since we’ve passed through Blanco before and they were closed. We bought the cherry pie and it was utterly delicious!!! We are from the Houston area and pie shops are not common and those that sell pies just do not compare to this. I love it!!!

We have driven past this unassuming, country shack on the corner a few times...and today was our lucky day...Open sign was ON! Hubby and I shared an Apple Pecan muffin, told to be their best seller upon asking, had it warmed up (a must!) and wouldn't you know we didn't leave one crumb. So run, grab a muffin and go straight to heaven on earth!!! Chewy apple bits, crunchy pecan pieces and a buttery, maybe caramelly, crumby topping make it the PERFECT sweet treat to share or gobble all on your own. No judgment 😉

Blanco County hosts many tempting food establishments. In my 70'sand a life long local resident, I recognize a true bakery not to be neglected by locals nor travelers. The caring owner and staff consistently care about guests and the provisions, both sweet and savory. The goods truly represent top quality in ingredients and preparation. No one should miss out on sampling the delights found at the Deutsch Apple Bakery!

We were driving from San Antonio to Austin when we saw the cute red corner house and seeing a couple of cars parked outside we decided it was the perfect spot to stop and have a little treat. We knew it could not get more homemade and authentic than that. We weren't wrong, we had the apple pecan muffin, apple pie and a lemon square. All of them were delicious, one day after eating them we are still talking about them and wishing we would have bought more for the trip. Please stop if you can! Owner was super nice and helpful with all of our questions.
